Rise, Growth and Activities of Christian Communities in the Černý Most Housing Development in Prague 14
WINSTED, Margareta
There have been four Christian churches active in the area of Černý Most housing development in Prague 14 since 2000 {--} the Church of Brethren, Christian Community Prague, Roman Catholic Church and the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. The work describes the rise, growth and activities of these communities between years 2000 and 2007, focusing on the Church of Brethren. The first part generally characterizes the churches, their rise and size. Next I described the churches´ activities focusing on the care of believers and their evangelistic effort. The next interesting fact is the cooperation of the churches and support of their educational and social activities from the Municipal Office of Prague 14. To give the total view of the religious atmosphere in Černý Most I mentioned activities of the Muslim community and the Jehovah{\crq}s Witnesses central office. Therefore the overall position of Christian communities in the anonymous environment of the housing development is found very demanding.
Institutionalization of Muslim Faith in France on the Basis of Laicite Principles
Lánová, Zuzana ; Emler, David (advisor) ; Perottino, Michel (referee)
The thesis " The Institutionalization of the Muslim faith in France on the Basis of the Laïcité principles" treats on the first place the impact of the acceptance of the law from the year 1905 concerning the separation of church and state on the contemporary attempts of French governments on creating the institution representing interests of the French Muslim community. Implications arising from the acceptance of the law supposed even the creation of representative organisation of concerned confessions. However Islam was never included to the system of recognised confessions, for all that its present position of the second largest confession in France supposes the creation of representative body, mainly on the basis of laïcité. The thesis follows the effort of single French government which lead to the establishment of French Council of Muslim faith in 2003. This representative organisation should lay the foundations of so-called French or Gallic Islam, nevertheless intern discrepancies caused by the diversity of participatory Muslim organisations, shows that the goal was not reached yet.
