Intervention programmes for muscle disbalances of chosen women youth team
Čmejrková, Barbora ; Jurková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Kočíb, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Intervention programmes for muscle disbalances of chosen women youth team Objectives: The main task of this thesis is to create a compenzational programme based on the fuctional level of musculoskeletal systém whilst respectiong the specifity of load in a group of basketball players. Then prove the positive influence of the intervention, which should harmonize the development of the musculoskeletal system. Methods: Creating the interventional programme based on the results of testing of chosen muscle groups and following application. After the end of the intervention an output measurement is conducted, which is subsequently compared to the results of input measurements. Results: The hypothesis that compensational programmes have positive effects on the musculoskeletal systém condition were proven right. Key words: compensatory excercises, muscle shortening, muscle weakening, basketball
Structural and functional asymmetry in golfers aged 12-18
Benešová, Amálie ; Gryc, Tomáš (advisor) ; Prokešová, Eva (referee)
Title: Structural and functional asymmetry in golfers aged 12 - 18 Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the level of body composition parametres, postural stability, muscle shortening and joint mobility of junior golfers and identify and analyze structural and functional asymmetry. Methods: The 14 golfers participated in this study (n=14, age 15,8 ± 1 year, body height 174,5 ± 10 cm, body weight 67,6 ± 13 kg and HCP 5,4 ± 5,9). Body composition including segmental muscle's weight distribution was tested on a bioimpedance instrument Tanita (Japan). Furthermore, the postural stability was examined on the Footscan (Balance 7.6 software) in 4 positions (USOO, USZO, FL_L and FL_P). The kinesiological analysis made by physiotherapist mainly tested muscle shortening and asymmetry using Janda's muscle function tests (1996). The dependence between the measured data was determined by the Pearson coefficient. Results: The average muscle's weight distribution was 2 % higher in the lower right leg, 3,1 % higher in the upper right arm compared with the left limbs. Asymmetry was also found in postural stability (average difference between stability on the right and left lower extremities was 25.9 %). Muscle shortening was found in more than 70 % of probands in hamstrings and quadriceps femoris,....
Measurement of lower extremities spasticity in patients with cerebral palsy
Vavřinová, Dominika ; Říha, Michal (advisor) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee)
Title: Measurement of lower extremities spasticity in patients with cerebral palsy Objectives: The aim of the theoretical part of this thesis is to evaluate possibilities of lower extremities spasticity measurement in adult patients with cerebral palsy. The main focus was given to the concept of French professor J.-M. Gracies: Five-step clinical assessment in spastic paresis. This unique concept presents differentiation of three main factors of motor impairment that emerge as a result of a lesion to central motor pathways: stretch sensitive paresis, soft tissue contracture and muscle overactivity. Ability to distinguish these factors is crucial for specific treatment indication. Finding a correlation between the Five-step clinical assessment in spastic paresis and muscle activity in gait measured with sEMG was the main objective in the practical part of the thesis. Methodology: This thesis has a theoretical-empirical character. The theoretical part is in a form of a research on the topic of spasticity diagnosis, focused on cerebral palsy patients. The empirical part of the thesis has a form of pilot quantitative research, which was attended by 6 participants with cerebral palsy (4 men and 2 women; average age 29 years). There were 2 independent measurement made for each of them. Each measurement...

The effect of progressive static stretching on treatment of spastic paraparesis in patients with cerebral palsy
Prachařová, Eva ; Říha, Michal (advisor) ; Malá, Jitka (referee)
Title: The effect of progressive static stretching on treatment of spastic paraparesis in patients with cerebral palsy Objectives: The goal of this dissertation is to evaluate the effect of progressive static stretching on treatment of spastic paraparesis in patients with paraparetic form of cerebral palsy (CP). Elements chosen for the treatment were those of the therapeutic concept Guided Self-rehabilitation Contract by French professor Jean-Michel Gracies, which is presented in detail in the theoretical part of the dissertation. Methodology: This dissertation has a theoretical-empirical character. First theoretical part of the dissertation is in a form of a research on the topic of spasticity and diagnosis and treatment of spastic paresis according to the concept of J.-M. Gracies. Second experimental part of the dissertation evaluating the effect of the selected treatment for spastic paresis in people with cerebral palsy, has a form of pilot qualitative research, which was attended by 6 participants. At the beginning of the research each participant has undergone an entrance examination that evaluated spasticity using at first an unique assessing protocol Five step clinical assessment and consequently a surface electromyography. Based on this examination, each participant was instructed to follow...
Findings of joint mobility and muscles flexibility in the 1st year students of teaching program study of Physical Education at Pedagogical Faculty at University of South Bohemia
VOLDÁN, Jiří
The purpose of this thesis is to determine and compare the condition of joint mobility and muscle flexibility of the students first year Physical Education Specialist Faculty of Education, University of South Bohemia. All selected tests are standardized and are selected to comprehensively evaluate the level of the musculoskeletal system. Measurements were performed during the winter semester of the academic year 2011/2012 and all was made personally by author of the work. After processing all the measure values followed statistical evaluation of the condition flexibility in test respondents and comparing the results achieved in men and women.
