Jahnová, Michaela ; Křivánková, Markéta (advisor) ; Vařeková, Jitka (referee)
Title: Prevention of poor posture and muscle imbalances of pupils in the 1st grade of elementary school - questionnaire survey Objectives: Finding the frequency of use of the means of preventing poor posture and muscle imbalances in elementary schools in the South Bohemian Region. Methods: I used a quantitative method, a questionnaire, which contained 22 questions, to develop the research in the diploma thesis. I sent the questionnaire by e-mail to the management of 250 schools in the South Bohemian Region with a request to resent it to 1st grade teachers. The questionnaire contained closed, semi-closed and open questions. A total of 92 completed questionnaires were returned. I processed the questionnaires into graphs and evaluated the individual answers. Based on the evaluated answers, I answered my research questions. Results: The results of the questionnaire survey showed that 32.6% of teachers in the South Bohemian Region regularly engage in compensatory exercise, which includes stretching and strengthening exercises, every PA lesson. According to my survey, only 29.3% of teachers add physical education moments to their lessons regularly every day. Three-quarters of teachers use the movement to learn during mathematics or Czech language lessons. Key words: compensatory exercise, upper and lower...
Subjective feelings of participants after the Feldenkrais method course - Awareness through Movement
Šlégl, Adam ; Vařeková, Jitka (advisor) ; Strnad, Pavel (referee)
Background Movement is one of the basic aspects of life, connected with perception, thinking and feeling. If we influence the movement, we influence also the other factors of ourselves. The quality and the range of the movement corresponds to the rate of an awareness, what we are doing, and improvement of body perception can be very important for the elimination of undesirable elements in psychological and physical sphere of living. Objectives The aim of this research was to get the subjective feelings from each proband, who get involved the course of Feldenkrais method, and with the quality research sample evaluate the effect of the method to psychical a physical system. Methods The study provided 99 filled pre-tests and post-tests. Pre-tests showed the basic anamnesis data and the post-tests showed evaluation of prodands feelings after ATM intervention - Awareness Through Movement. The result were the reviews of probands by answering the questions, with Lickert scale. Results Results showed mostly positive response to the intervention. Regarding the physical aspects, most of the probands experienced and increase in range of motion. On the issue of the decrease of pain perception, the probands answered inconsistently. Probands mostly agreed with better psychological feelings. Another important aspect of...
Usage of Taekwon-Do ITF on patients with VAS issues
FRIČ, Lukáš
The topic of this bachelor thesis is the application of selected Taekwon-Do ITF (or TKD) techniques, and their detailed correction, on patients with vertebral algic syndrome. Unlike other martial arts, Taekwon-Do was carefully described, every single technique was described in detail while maximally respecting the biomechanical laws and borders of the human body. Tai-chi, a well-known martial art, has already been surveyed, even despite it's techniques not being described in detail or even without any connection of its movements to the kinesioterapeutic methods. The aim of this thesis was to find out in which way does regular Taekwon-Do practicing influence back pain and what influence does regular Taekwon-Do practicing have on selected movement stereotypes. Back pain is now nearly considered a civilization desease, which can unbelievably limit a person in thier professional and what is more in their private life. The bachelor thesis was divided into three parts. The theoretical part presents terms such as VAS, describes Taekwon-Do, and describes what movement stereotypes are. The chapter dedicated to Taekwon-Do, contains information about history, about the founding of Taekwon-Do, the main Taekwon-Do principles and about the basic techniques and movements. The second part, also theoretical, deals with specific parallels between Takewon-Do and kinesioterapeutic methods as well as with the differences between simple "teaching Taekwon-Do" and applying detailed projections on selected movement stereotypes. The third part is practical. It is based on both the quantitative and the qualitative research. The beginning of this part focuses mainly on the qualitative research a description of what posturografical testing is, the system of postural control, different subtests of the posturograpic testing. It desribes all 4 case reports, which contain kinesiological examination, pain scale and the initial posturographical tests, the course of therapy and then the final kinesiological examination and posturographical tests. It also includes the results of the questionnaire survey and insights from the discussion with the subjects The third part presents the results of my combined research. The data obtained from the qualitative part of my research were collected by posturographic tests and kinesiolgical examination, the quantitativa data in by questionnaire survey. The questionnaires were sent via a website to teachers and also students of Teakwon-Do of every Czech taekwondo school. The qualitative research lasted 6 months and included 4 subjects, who suffered from back pain in different parts of their back. The exercise unit, or therapy, took place three times a week in the form of an official lessons of Taekwon-Do ITF, in traditional lessons, and at home in the form of exercises depending on the recommendation of TKD teacher. Such a unit consisted at the very least of: warm-up, stretching part, kick training and basic techniques training. The results of the qualitative part demonstrated that those who practised TKD regularly improved in stability tests and slightly, not fundamentally, in movement stereotype as well. Moreover, they felt better and the intensity or frequency of pain decreased or vanished. Those, who did not practise TKD did not reach such results and even deteriorated in some tests. The results of the quantitative part say, regular TKD practice leads to better health conditions or helps to maintain it. This thesis might be useful for health workers and sportsmen, but also for trainers, teachers and students of TKD, or for general public as a study materiál.
