They provided social services and a resistance ideology, either for the West or local political regimes. They mobilized their supporters in a large social movement that crystallized the Islamic Ummah's relative deprivation and common grievances. In some cases, Islamism was used as a justification ideology to legitimize the ruling regime. Also, it has been used as an ideology to justify the use of radical and jihadist violence. The Islamism involvement in the Arab Spring raised the classic dilemma in a new shape, either to integrate the Islamists in an open political process; however, this integration may undermine democracy and individual rights in the long term, or to exclude the Islamists from the political life in a way that may encourage more Islamists to resort to violence to achieve their goals. Creating a Fundraising Strategy for a Nonprofit Organization

The aim of this master's thesis is to evaluate the current state of creating a fundraising strategy in a selected nonprofit organization and propose improvements to the current situation. The theoretical part defines fundamental concepts and analytical approaches, delineates the nonprofit sector, and examines fundraising aspects. The practical part characterizes the selected organizations and follows a specific methodology. The assessment of the current state derives not only from the application of professional literature but also from conducted interviews with the co-founder of TEMPERI, o.p.s., and experienced fundraisers from three observed organizations. Furthermore, the structure of resources for individual organizations is explored, followed by the utilization of PESTLE analysis and Porter's Five Forces model. The outputs of these analyses are then applied within the framework of a SWOT analysis. All results serve the purpose of an effective proposal for improving the current state in relation to creating a fundraising strategy for the chosen nonprofit organization.

The Comparison of Selected Social Movement Organizations

Title of the Bachelor's Thesis: Comparison of Selected Social Movement Organizations Abstract: This bachelor thesis compares the social movement organizations on the basis of the resource mobilization theory. In relation to the resources, organizations use various strategies. Aim of this thesis is to identify similarities and differences in the strategies that organization use in relation to selected resources. This thesis focuses on material resources, human resources and the Internet. The theoretical part introduces the issue of civil society and civil society organizations. The largest part is devoted to the theory of resource mobilization, including the specification of individual types of resources and followed by a description of selected organization strategies. In the empirical part is made a comparative analysis of selected social movement organizations. To achieve the objective it was chosen a method of semi-structured interviews with representatives of selected organizations. Civic engagement in Romania - testing the applicability of mainstream theories on the winter protests of 2012

The past few years have seen the emergence of new types of civic engagement. Citizens are now more capable to organize themselves than ever before and this creates a new pattern of social mobilization that has not previously been the centre of academic focus. This work analyses the particular case of the Romanian winter protests of 2012 in an attempt to prove that current mainstream theories of resource mobilization and framing do not fully explain the emergence of unstructured movements. The results aim to pave the way for a new theory of civic engagement that fits the newly observed realities and could be generalized to explain all forms of structured or unstructured participation to collective action.
