Mathematical competitions for the youngest pupils
ŘIČICOVÁ, Jana
The aim of the diploma thesis is to develop material for primary school teachers, which can be used to stimulate interest in Mathematics and further develop the youngest pupils' mathematical skills. In the theoretical part, teachers will get acquainted with an overview of domestic (the Czech Republic) and abroad mathematical competitions. These competitions are compared in different perspectives - complexity, typology of tasks, elaboration methods (complete task solution × choice of answer from the offered options). Each competition is briefly described, and it contains suitable motivational, or in some way interesting solved tasks. For each task, the teacher finds a methodological analysis of the solution with commentary. The practical part of the work contains four worksheets (for 2nd to 5th grade), which contain tasks from various competitions. These worksheets were verified at selected primary schools.
Worksheets for teaching Mathematics focusing on problems from the Pythagoriáda competition
MENTLÍK, Jan
The main objective of this thesis is to create worksheets for the fifth to eight grade basic school pupils or suitable degree of comprehensive school, which is meant not only as a mathematical competition (Pythagoriad) preparation, but also as already discussed thematic aggregates practise. The author created a set of four worksheets for all grades. Each worksheet is provided with results for an optimal (possible) checking the right answers. Additionally the author created for each set a commented solution of one worksheet.
Analysis of solutions and popularity of tasks from the Pangea competition
Vratislav, Milan ; Kaslová, Michaela (advisor) ; Novotná, Gabriela (referee)
The submitted bachelor's thesis deals with the relationship between the mathematical focus of tasks, success rate, popularity and point evaluation of tasks from the Pangea mathematical competition. The analysis refers to tasks for the 9th grade of the Pangea competition from the final round in the 2019/2020 school year, which took place a year later, in the 2020/2021 school year, due to the coronavirus pandemic. Determining the relationships between the investigated variables is based on quantitative research on problem solvers. Task success rate data was provided by Pangea competition management. The level of popularity of the tasks was determined based on data from the questionnaire, which is filled out annually by the solvers of the tasks immediately after submitting the solution. The characteristics and main focus of the tasks were described by the author of this work. The point evaluation of the tasks is determined by the authors of the tasks. The analysis of the tasks refers to their assignment, the expected solution procedure, the expected difficulties in the solution and comments on the answer menu. The thesis defines the terms gifted student, mathematical competition and word problem, and defines the specifics and mission of the Pangea competition. The results of the work can be used when...
The Pangea Mathematical Competition in the 4th year of the 1st degree of Elementary school. Solution analysis.

Matematická soutěž Pangea ve 4. ročníku 1. st. ZŠ - analýza řešení AUTOR: Anna Marek KATEDRA: Katedra matematiky a didaktiky matematiky VEDOUCÍ PRÁCE: PhDr. The Pangea Mathematical Competition in the 4th year of the 1st degree of Elementary school. Solution analysis.
Marek, Anna ; Kaslová, Michaela (advisor) ; Jirotková, Darina (referee)
NAME: The Pangea Mathematical Competition in the 4th year of the 1st degree of Elementary school. Solution analysis. AUTHOR: Anna Marek DEPARTMENT: Department of Mathematics and Didactics of Mathematics LEADING OF TASK: PhDr. Michaela Kaslová ABSTRACT: This diploma thesis deals with the problems of mathematical competitions in the Czech Republic. Mathematical competitions are structured according to pre-selected criteria. On the basis of a comparative analysis of the data obtained from mathematical competitions for elementary schools, it is possible to create a coherent picture of the current situation. With this context, the author advovates a relatively young Pangea mathematical competition. The main objective is to analyze data from the Pangea competition. Particular attention is paid to the tasks for the 4th year of the Pangea Primary School from the school round in the school year 2016/2017. The data obtained from 7 864 solverrs are analyzed both from the point of view of individual tasks and from the point of view of specific phenomena. Based on the data analysis, attention is paid to pupils' responses - the procedures for solving the individual tasks developed by 60 pupils of the 4th year of the 1st degree of non-selected schools. The work presents a number of new findings. All analyzes can be used...
Combinatorics in mathematics competitions
Kadeřábek, Václav ; Jančařík, Antonín (advisor) ; Zhouf, Jaroslav (referee)
This work analyzes the possibilities of division of combinatorial problems that occur in mathematical competitions. It contains presentation of Combinatorics taught at secondary schools. It shows the differences between solving problems in schools and math competitions. Using graphs and tables, it demonstrates an unbalanced distribution of combinatorial problems. In conclusion, it offers some types of examples that are missing in competitions, or are there in insufficient numbers.
Selected problems from Pythagoriáda
MENTLÍK, Jan
The main purpose of this bachelor thesis: "Selected tasks from Pythagoriads"includes lucid calculating of the examples, which occure in this mathematical competition and are dedicated for seventh class of basic schools or second class eight-year-old gymnazium. Examples are chosen from the local competition for schools. These solved examples are meant to help not only students in practising, but also for teachers in preparing students for the mathematical competition. Every Pythagoriad is devided to three categories according to the method of solving the problem and those are anallactic, geometric and logical.
Problems of Math Kangaroo competition
CIESLAROVÁ, Lucie
The main aim of this Bachelor thesis is to create a collection of logical mathematical tasks for the secondary grade students of primary schools. The theoretical part provides the interpretation of rules concerning the individual categories of the Mathematical Kangaroo competition. The practical part contains the tests from years 2012 and 2013 taken out from the groups Benjamin and Cadet. In the attachment the test also on the level of Benjamin and Cadet but from the year 2014 is processed. This Bachelor thesis can be used to prepare children not only for the Mathematical Olympiads but also for several entrance examinations. Elementary school teachers may also enhance their lessons by selecting some appropriate mathematical examples coming from this work.
