Influence of mass Media upon Decisions of Politicians

In March survey, the 44 % of Czech citizens expressed their opinion that mass media mainly influence decisions of politicians. Respondents also talked about influence of some monitored media upon decisions of politicians - Czech Television and Nova TV have the biggest influence upon decisions of politicians. According to respondents´ opinion daily MF Dnes has strong influence upon decisions of politicians. Other media are supposed to have weak influence upon decisions of politicians as well as two years ago.

This paper aims to provide readers with a complete view on mass media from their beginning through development in history and the role which information and communication technology play in their development. Main section presents the influence of the mass media to society and the possibilities how can people defend against it. Furthermore, the assets of the internet is presented. The purpose of this paper is to help readers realize that not every media is credible without any lateral intention. Without any doubt mass media influence society. Hence, it is important to reveal hidden risks. Moreover, few recommendations how to deal with mass media are given.

The aim of this thesis is to create a comprehensive view on questions of development and influence of media on society and related formation and processing of information. This thesis should also enable the reader easier understanding and orientation in this topic. For that reason the thesis is divided into four main parts. The first section describes what is information, and the relation among data, information and knowledge. The second part is devoted to development and influence of information and communication technologies. It describes ways which enabled and enable to deliver information to its recipient and also related changes brought by these technologies. In the next chapter there is desribed what influences our relations within the framework of single nations and how media help to their convergency and linking. And the last part of this thesis includes an analysis of possible use and misuse when affecting broad masses of people.

For making connection there is further description of the development of single medial epochs which were creating suitable place for the development of the human society going up to today's electronic times with the active information content and mass medial way of the communication. To sum up the whole work ends with the critical summary of the trends of today's society and outline their possible solution.The society still has great reserves in taking advantage of the potential of the modern technologies which we are supposed to support by the proper stimulation of the critical thinking its public.

In my Bachelor thesis I concentrate on influence of media on human and society, whereas I emphasize the influence of television. My aim is to approach the principle and problem of mass media in a society. I concentrate mainly on their influence on behaviour of individuals and society. In theoretical part I also describe the influence of films wih violence on human, I mention even the development of aggressive behaviour in human history. In practical part I am finding the concrete influence of television on informant by the method of the narrative research.
Disinformation and its impacts on practice

The diploma thesis is focused on disinformation and its relationship to the mass media and public. The main aim of the thesis is to provide a general overview of disinformation, point out the menace resulting from its underestimating and present the clues on how to eliminate its impacts. The work is divided into two main parts. The first one is theoretical and summarizes the existing knowledge in information and disinformation theory. It is supplemented by own typology of the disinformation and includes a practical example of each type. The end of the theoretical part is addressed to the special place that mass media have in the process of disinforming. The second part is related to practical issues. It results from a detailed analysis of the most widely-read statewide daily newspapers and the structure of their readers. The social-demographic factors that influence the rate of received disinformation are set.
