Manipulation hypothesis: critical review of published works on parasitic invertebrates
TRÁVNÍČKOVÁ, Jana
The manipulation hypothesis has attracted many researchers, and at present it seems to be documented fora wide range of parasites. However, in the last thirty years, numerous parasites have been revealed that, in fact, cannot manipulated with their host morphology, behaviour, and/or habitat preference, unlike conclusions of the previous studies. The major purpose of this study is to test critically the plausibility of the hypothesis about parasitic manipulation, based on metaanalysis of 55 papers concerning four helminth taxa, namely, Acanthocephala, Cestoda, Trematoda, and Nematomorpha.

PECHOVÁ, Jaroslava
The topic of my work is packaging and its influence on the effectiveness of logistic operations. The main aim of my diploma work was an analysis of portfolio of products of a packaging industry which enters distributive chains in the sphere of an elected sortiment group from the point of view of their applicability for logistic operations. I acquired information for elaborating this work from the company Schenker, Ltd., Jamall, Inc. and next from shopping chains. I compared pallets which are used by the company Schenker in logistics. In the company Jamall I dealt with a portfolio of furniture and its influence on effectiveness of logistic operations. In shopping chains I dealt with the matter of conveniency or inconviency of packaging of non-alcoholic beverages. Next I applied a properly elaborated questionnaire aimed at environment and packaging. I applied the method of observation, controlled interview, analysis of documents, processing data from the operations register file and questionnaire investigation for acquiring necessary information. I made a conclusion that a proper choice of packaging has an essential influence on lowering costs involving storage, manipulation and transport.

Analysis of safety and work injuries in the field of land transport and material handling.
HAVLOVÁ, Michaela
Every year thousands of people die on the roads because of car crashes. Every year is this situation getting worse and brings problems to the families of victims and to the country as well. To solve this problem completely is really impossible but our country has to try decrease number of accidents and protect drivers. My research explains how many accidents are caused by senseless reasons and describes problems with work injuries in the transportation industry. Voluntary organizations, police and public organizations try to change this sad situation, but police statistics are clear and still show high number of victims, injured people and accidents. My measurements describe real situation in our country. Big problems are caused by infringement of law and irresponsibility. Future development depends on new ways of protecting people and new transport policy.
