Andrysík, Marek
Andrysík M. The impact of imposition of sanctions on Iran´s marcoeconomic stability. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2020. The aim of this thesis is to find out how the sanctions imposed in 2006 affected the macroeconomic stability of the Iran´s economy. In the first chapter of the theoretical part of this thesis an overview of empirical and theoretical studies dealing with impacts on macroeconomical stability is presented. The chronological outline of sanctions against Iran, imposed due to the nuclear programm, pro-cess the second chapter. In the empirical part of this thesis four macroeconomical indicators are chosen: GDP, inflation, unemployment and exchange rate. Then three countries (Algeria, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan) with similar economical structu-re are chosen for comparison with Iran´s economy. After that the development of macroeconomic indicators in Iran is analyzed, first before the sanctions were im-posed (from 2000 to 2005) and then how these indicators were affected by the sanctions from 2006 to 2016. In the next chapter the comparison between Iran´s indicators and indicators of the other four countries is made. The results of these comparisons suggest that the sanctions imposed by UN, EU, USA and other coutries had a particularly negative impact on exchange rate, inflation, short term development of GDP and the unemployment indicator was least affected.

Ďurišová, Kristína
Bachelor thesis is focused on impact of implementation of sanctions on macroe-conomic stability of Russia. In the first chapter overview of empiric and theoretic studies is processed, which are dedicated to economic impact of sanctions on this stability. In the second chapter chronological overview of implemented sanctions is processed, consequently 4 macroeconomic indicators are selected: develop-ment of GDP, measurement of inflation, unemployment and exchange rate. In the other chapters is analysed progress of these indicators before and after imple-mentation of sanctions. This development is consequently compared to develop-ment of the same indicators in the countries, which have similar economic struc-ture as Russia. The results of this comparison indicates, that sanctions had only small impact on development of unemployment, bigger impact on development of GDP and strongly influenced inflation and exchange rate.
Evropská integrace Černé Hory: Ekonomická kritéria
Jetelina, Patrik
This bachelor thesis is dealing with the topic of Montenegro’s preparedness to meet the economic Copenhagen criteria, as one of the key conditions to join the European Union. The thesis finds out that the economic Copenhagen criteria are too general and hard to measure, thus these criteria must be substituted with the category of so called “sub-criteria.” The aim of this thesis is to critically evaluate positive and negative changes in the field of the economic sub-criteria, and to evaluate Montenegro’s economic state for joining the EU ending with the year 2017. To accomplish this goal, the thesis is using the benchmarking method, together with the time-series and structure analysis of the economy. Discussion presents the results of the evaluation and the thesis argues why 2 out of total 11 sub-criteria are problematic: which are the public finances, and human and physical capital and the investments into R&D.
Influence of Culture on Macroeconomic Stability
Šenkýřová, Jitka ; Baxa, Jaromír (advisor) ; Gregor, Martin (referee)
This thesis investigates the effect of individual countries' cultural character- istics on macroeconomic stability. Macroeconomic stability is a general con- cept that comprises the stable development of several economic parameters - inflation, government budget, external debt, gross domestic product, and oth- ers. The mainstream economics investigates these indicators usually as being shaped only by wealth, political stability and institutions. However recently, the economic literature reveals the relationship between some of the individ- ual cultural characteristics - mainly trust - and macroeconomic (in)stability. This thesis is the first attempt to analyze the effect of complex set of cultural characteristics on macroeconomic stability. Through the lens of panel data re- gression it is shown that the macroeconomic stability is significantly affected by cultural characteristics. In particular, more individualistic countries tend to have lower macroeconomic stability. Furthermore, in countries where people feel stronger fear about uncertainty the macroeconomic stability is also weaker. On the contrary from the previous studies, the positive effect of higher trust on macroeconomic stability is not confirmed. Economic Research Bulletin (2013, No.2). No. 2, Vol. 11, November 2013, Macroeconomic Effects of Fiscal Policy
Česká národní banka
This edition of the Research Bulletin focuses on four articles which analyse the macroeconomic effects of fiscal policy. The first article examines the interactions between monetary and fiscal policies in six industrialised countries during 1980–2008. Employing a novel empirical framework, the article documents changes in monetary-fiscal interactions over time. Next, these changes are linked to the monetary policy regime set-up. The second article assesses the extent to which fiscal discretion in the Czech Republic contributed to smoothing the real economy over the business cycle in the past decade. Using several alternative approaches, the results suggest that fiscal discretionary measures have been procyclical, that is, have amplified business cycle fluctuations. The third article analyses in an empirical framework how unexpected changes to government spending and revenues affect the Czech economy. The article detects certain regularities and at the same time shows the limits of the existing identification methods when applied to short Czech fiscal data. The fourth article takes a complementary approach by building a dynamic stochastic general equilib rium (DSGE) model to quantify the effects of fiscal measures on the expenditure and revenue sides of the Czech economy. The model, which is still rather in the development stage, demonstrates the potential for calculating fiscal multipliers and simulating the macroeconomic effects of fiscal measures for individual categories of the government budget.

Fiala, Petr ; Hnát, Pavel (advisor) ; Tunkrová, Věra (referee)
The consequences of globalization connected to the world market liberalisation and increasing global competition have uncovered and deepened many weaknesses of the European Union and its position in the world economy. The thesis is aimed to describe the contemporary economic condition of the EU and to provide a notion aboat its further development. This depends mostly on efficient ways how the EU will face new challenges. I try to distinguish EU's most serious challenges and introduce the strategies responding to them. I will also offer an appraisal of these strategies and outline its limits.
