Changes in climate elements in central Europe and the Czech Republic from the mid-20th century, focusing on autumn
Maryško, Kryštof ; Huth, Radan (advisor) ; Cahynová, Monika (referee)
This thesis deals with climate elements changes in Central Europe in the 2nd half of the 20th century which are being compared to changes in global and European scale. The entire thesis is divided into three main chapters according to the climate elements. The most described are temperature indicators which the authors of papers study most frequently. Also the precipitation forms a separate chapter, while other elements are all summarized in one chapter, because there are not that many studies about them. The average annual temperature and precipitation trends calculated for Europe or the world were similar to those in Central Europe. As for the temperature indicators, during the 2nd half of the 20th century warming was found in most cases and insignificant trends prevailed for precipitation indicators. Among the seasonal changes in climate, autumn stood out. Its trends were in some cases (especially for temperature indicators) different from the other seasons. Whilst there is warming in Central Europe in spring, summer and winter, it cools in autumn. Keywords: climate elements, long-term changes, Central Europe, autumn
Long-term precipitation changes in Europe in different data sources
Vít, Václav ; Huth, Radan (advisor) ; Crhová, Lenka (referee)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the analysis of long-term changes in precipitation in Europe over the period 1961 - 2011. Emphasis is placed on determining differences in values of trends in precipitation among selected data sources and on analyzing the spatial distribution of annual and seasonal changes in precipitation in Europe, including a discussion of possible causes of differences in these changes in individual areas. Another aim is to illustrate, describe and account for the differences in trend values among different data sources: the ECA&D station database, the interpolation network data sets E-OBS and CRU TS and two reanalyses JRA-55 and NCEP/NCAR. Depending on the amount and quality of data available for the comparison of data sets, changes in precipitation totals were described over a long-term scale in absolute and also, to a lesser degree, in relative values. The first part summarizes the scientific literature dealing with the changes in precipitation characteristics throughout the world and in Europe. There follows a description of the suitability of individual types of data sources for estimating trends in precipitation totals. Scientific articles usually describe long-term changes based on a single data source rather than using a variety of individual types of data sources....
Long-term changes in snow depth and snow water equivalent at selected mountain stations in Czechia
Kožíšek, Matěj ; Jeníček, Michal (advisor) ; Nedělčev, Ondřej (referee)
Long-term changes in snow depth and snow water equivalent at selected mountain stations in Czechia This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of long-term changes of snow cover in the peripheral mountain ranges in the Czech Republic. The first part is a research of foreign and czech literature dealing with changes in the parameters of snow cover depending on climate change and the consequences of these changes on various components of nature. The second part of the work consists of the analysis of climatic data from stations located in the peripheral mountains of the Czech Republic in the period of hydrological years 1980-2014. The mountains included in this research include Šumava (Churáňov, Lenora and Husinec), Jizera Mountains (Bedřichov and Desná), Krkonoše (Harrachov), Orlické Mountains (Deštné and Rokytnice v O. h.) and Moravskoslezské Beskydy (Lysá hora). The statistical Mann-Kendall test is used to evaluate trends. Changes in snow cover have a significant impact on the functioning of many landscape processes and on the life of the population in terms of future water availability and recreation.

The long-term trends in numbers and distribution of birds in the Czech Republic
Gebauer Fialová, Adéla ; Musil, Petr (advisor) ; Fuchs, Roman (referee)
The long-term changes in distribution and numbers of bird species in the Czech Republic were analysed using published data from Breeding Birds Atlases in the Czech Republic (1973-77, 1985-89 and 2001-03). Each species were categorized by taxonomical group, migratory strategies, biogeography type, breeding habitat, breeding population size in Europe and in the Czech Republic a body size. The changes in numbers and changes in distribution were inter-correlated Increase in distribution as well as in numbers were recorded in rare and large species, in species increasing in whole Europe and in bird species protected under Czech legislation. Interesting pattern in population was found in waterbirds, where piscivorous species are increasing, whereas other (mostly grebes, ducks etc.) species are decreasing.
Dlouhodobě byly hodnoceny zimní koncentrace fosforu a následný sezónní rozvoj fytoplanktonu. V letech 1960 – 1992 zimní koncentrace P vzrůstaly (vliv zvýšení P v detergentech?), pak opět klesaly. Letní koncentrace chlorofylu se zvyšovaly do 2000, pak se postupně snižují (v důsledku meziroční variability zatím neprůkazné).
