Treatment of sludges from water treatment plants
Mach, Michal ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee) ; Biela, Renata (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the methods of disposal and the use of water sludge generated in the treatment of water used nowadays. The work is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part is focused on the basic properties of sludge, its composition and getting acquainted with technological solutions leading to its treatment and disposal today. The practical part introduces the specific water treatment in the Czech Republic, and how specifically these treatment plants deal with the issue. Based on the practical part, it is possible to present more about how are these problematics in fact mostly solved.

Biogas plant Žákava
Saláková, Veronika ; Synáčková, Marcela (advisor) ; Soukupová, Jana (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the production of energy from renewable sources using biogas. The introduction talks about the history of these special-purpose constructions, which are able to produce a range of products. These products are mainly biomass and biogas, extracted from many processes from sewage sludge and containing a substantial portion of methane, generally known as the main component of natural gas. Combustion of biogas in cogeneration units produce electricity and thermal energy. The theoretical part is devoted mainly to the production of green energy from organogenous sludge draining to the wastewater treatment plant, agricultural sludge and other kinds of sewage sludge. Next objective in sewage sludge cleaning is to prevent emissions and other adverse effects affect human health and the environment in accordance with legislation. An example is the selected agricultural biogas plant Žákava, which deals mainly with the production of biogas from organic materials and its main source of income is the sale of electricity. The intention of the bachelor thesis is a comparison of production of alternative energy not only using biogas plants and determination of limits for the disposal of sewage sludge due to the waste policy of the EU.
