TITLE: QUALITY OF A PRIMARY TEACHER FROM THE PARENTS AND PUBLIC PERSPECTIVE Author Alena Kolaříková DAPARTEMENT Centre of school management SUPERVISOR PhDr. Jan Voda, Ph.D. ANNOTATION The role of a teacher in society and quality of education are quite often subject of a discussion these days. These discussions are linked with evaluation of quality of teachers, their way of teaching, and also with their approach to pupils and parents. The importance of teaching can be seen in two levels: firstly, the focus is on giving the knowledge, and secondly the focus is on personal development of the pupil, his/her competencies, and personal skills and respect. In this work I will describe various styles of teaching, personal prerequisites and further competencies, as necessary qualities a teacher should have. I will present five basic teaching styles with focus on their positives and risks. In analytical part, I will look up competitions rewarding good teachers and will describe criteria based on which selected teachers are rewarded. By the form of questionnaire, the practical part will try to identify what type of teacher of 1st level Primary school is preferred by the parents / legal representatives, and what type of personal and professional qualities they appreciate the most. Educational styles characterized by Kurt Zadek Lewin and their preferences for children and young generation at the age of puberty and adolescence.

This thesis is about educational systems which were characterized by Kurt Zadek Lewin and his co workers based on Lewin's research. The goal of the thesis was to find out which educational styles prefer the children and youth in the age of pubescence and adolescence. The thesis is divided in 4 main parts, where each of the part fit the individual chapters. The first chapter deals with the characteristics of development during adolescence and pubescence, with regard to the developmental tasks, which should be based on appropriate educational goals and the overall style of education. The second chapter describes upbringing and educational activity of the teacher; it specifically defines the interaction between the teacher and educated individual, and characterizes the overall style of education. The third chapter explains authoritarian, liberal and democratic style of education. The final chapters content is my own quantitative research, in which the questionnaires were used. The intention of this research corresponds with the above stated goal.
Method of Raising up Children by Order of Birth

This bachelor thesis called "Educational style of parents according to the birth order of children" concentrates on finding out the educational style which parents follow according to the birth order of their children. It examines whether the educational influence on each child is the same or whether it changes. In this thesis each position in a family, the oldest child, a middle child, up to the youngest one and an only child, is described separately. The development of personality and the individual educational influence, applied within a family, are also described. This thesis draws the attention to the importance of the birth order in relationship to parents as well as brothers and sisters, and also in relationship to the educational influence of parents on their children. All the data were acquired by asking respondents and by questionnaires.
