The Analysis of spectrum and polar pattern of French horn with different mouthpieces and different elastic resonators

This bachelor thesis deals with the French horn and adjusting mouthpieces for this instrument. The work briefly describes the French horn, its structure, production materials, history and development, and the description of the timbre possibilities. Furthermore, the work explains the use of the fast Fourier transform algorithm in the context of analysis. A list of characteristics features of individual tools and mouthpieces used for analysis follows. The work then compares selected tone samples of natural and valve French horns from various manufacturers, their harmonic spectra, and directional characteristics. For specific tones, a list of chosen psychoacoustic quantities is given. The obtained values are linked with the mechanical characteristics of individual instruments and mouthpieces.

The most used didactic literature for French horn in Elementary School of Arts

The aim of this work is to summarize the didactic publications available to teachers of Elementary schools of Arts in the Czech Republic. The first chapter contains a description of 18 publications, there is a subchapter devoted to each of them. I describe the author, the typical features of the publication, the difficulty and the possible of usage in teaching. The second chapter contains the evaluation of the questionnaire which was answered by 54 French horn teachers at Elementary schools of Arts. I describe which publications they know and use, how they evaluate them, and what kind of teaching materials they create themselves. An example of every publication can be found in extensive appendices.

The diploma thesis „The French horn in operatic works of Giacomo Puccini focusing on operas Tosca, Madama Butterfly and Turandot“ deals with the composer’s life, his operas and instrumental treatment with the French horn. Part of the thesis is the analysis of selected three operas from player’s view on this royal instrument. This thesis aims to bring parts of the French horn from Puccini operas to common reader and help professional musician with their playing.

This magister thesis Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK and its brass section is divided into four chapters. The first chapter deals with the development of the orchestra since its foundation up to the present. The chapters from the second to the fourth focus on the brass section including the detailed artistic curriculum vitas of the current musicians. The second chapter is concentrated on the members of the trombone section (including also two members that play tube). The third chapter deals with the trumpet section while the fourth chapter deals with the section playing French horn.

My work deals with the development of methodologies for French horn. I present the original sources and analyze importatnt methodist like Domnich, Duvernoy, Fröhlich, Farkas and Kaucký. Moreocer, I mention successful personalities of pedagogy . I translated materials that have not been published in Czech language yet and thereby created an overview of already forgotten and for hornplayers important books. Than, chapters from selected schools are compared with basic attributes of hornplaying. I mapped the methods of conterporary teaching at prestigious music schools in France, Germany and Prague. I created a list of issued schools, etudes and methodologies for French Horn wich available in Europe.
Daily embrouchure hygiene for advanced french horn

This study investigates the warm up process of an advanced french horn player. Through and meaningful warm up should be as natural as brushing teeth that is why I call it hygiene. Above all, this study should be a tool for every player who hasn't created his own system of warm up and inspiration for everyone else who wants to refresh his daily warm up routine. In this study you will find daily exercises for widening the range, tongue speed, embouchure flexibility, and also the breathing exercises which are equally important for the fine horn playing.
French horn in the Wind Quintet

The topic of this Bachelor's thesis is the "French horn in the Wind Quintet". The thesis is divided into eight chapters with subchapters. In the first chapters I mention the development of a chamber music and horn. In the next chapters I focus on a chamber playing, Antonin Rejcha's life and compositions. In my work, I refer to the most played woodwind quintets his composition, well known Prague woodwind quintets and interviews with horn players. Included as an attachment to this thesis is a table of Czech - Slovak authors of wind quintets who compose the mid-20th century to the present.

The topic of this Master's Thesis is a different side of the French horn and it offers a new perspective on performance practice. The thesis is divided into twelve chapters with sub-chapters, covering the French horn and methodological approaches supported by my own knowledge, experience and opinions. I attempt to view the details of my work from a new perspective, one different from that found in other literature on this topic. I attach here photos, my CV and the CVs of my teachers.
