Adjustment an intersection of Přístavní x Obvodová in Brno

The one-lane roundabout is designed at the crossing point of road II. Class (Ob-vodová) and local road (speed-A, Přístaviště) in Brno. The current state is unsatis-factory. The danger is at risk due to the increased maximum permitted speed before the junction and also because of the MHD JMK bus stops, which are cur-rently solved in the form of a lane stop in the local road, or with partial bus bay. The goal of this bachelor thesis is to maximize the safety of traffic participants. Furthermore, emphasis is placed on minimizing interference with existing struc-tures, the environment and aesthetics.
Safety and fluency increasing - road I/43 Černá Hora - Sebranice

A part of the road I/43 in the section between Černá Hora and Sebranice is the subject of diploma thesis. The output of thesis is to identify problematic parts of the safety and fluency of traffic and to propose appropriate measures. The road I/43 is very problematic and discussed of these aspects. Becouse of the character and the results of traffic accidents is called Highway of death. The thesis contains proposals of structural modification in selected problematic sections. These structural modifications are intended to increase the safety of traffic, but in order to limit of flow of traffic. Depending on the long-delayed contruction of expressway R43 is in order to make quick and effective increase the safety and the fluency of traffic counting with traffic intensity in the full range.

The objective of the diploma thesis is to the design of a transfer terminal on the VRT RS1 high-speed line in Jihlava-Pávov location at the crossing point with the existing railway line Havlíčkův Brod - Jihlava. The thesis deals with the integration of the transfer terminal into the existing transport infrastructure with an emphasis on the quality of its own transport service. The work includes the design of transport structures at the preliminary design level.

Ekonometrická analýza vlivu kruhových objezdů na počet a závažnost dopravních nehod

Econometric analysis of the impact of roundabouts on the number and severity of traffic accidents. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2015. This diploma thesis estimates the effect of converting conventional intersec-tions to roundabouts on the number and severity of traffic accidents. The effect is estimated in a Difference-in-Differences setup using data on 40 intersections con-verted to roundabouts and 40 conventional intersections that serve as a control group. The estimated effects, together with the existing estimates of the value of a statistical life, are then used as input data in a Cost-Benefit Analysis of converting intersections into roundabouts. The net present value of converting intersection to the roundabout estimated is estimated at minus 7 755 169 CZK, that is a net social loss. This is because in our data the number of serious injuries increased as a result of conversion. However, the results are not statistically significant, thus we cannot rule out the possibility that the conversion produces zero or moderate social benefits. The results suggest that more research is needed to ascertain whether intersection conversions are sound policy or a waste of resources

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of roundabouts from the point of view of technical or operational parameters and the question of aesthetics as well. The thesis consists of several chapters. In the literary summary, a roundabout is described using legislative characteristics, also the particular types of crossroads and the use of roundabouts in the urban context. The second part of this bachelor thesis describes and evaluates the already existing roundabouts in Valašské Meziříčí according to the methodology given. A roundabout is a significant architectonic element which accents the character of landscape as well as urban environment. Design of the central traffic island and other dividing islands influences road users, the traffic situation as well as visitors of the town provided that the roundabout lies in a built-up area.

The work analyzes the effect of roundabouts on safety of motorcyclists. Estimating the effect of the implementation of the model fixed effects, taking into account the fixed effects of year in which accidents are measured and fixed effects of the country in which the accident observed. The reference period is the period from 1997 to 2010 in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Sweden and the United Kingdom. It concludes that an increase in the number or intensity of roundabouts has a negative impact on the number of traffic fatalities among motorcycle riders. If cyclists do not have roundabouts effect on mortality, the effect on the accident rate is similar to the bikers, but smaller.
