Use of acoustic emission technology to assess corrosion of materials
Procházka, Adam ; Vašíková, Simona (referee) ; Binar, Tomáš (advisor)
The thesis deals with the description of acoustic emission as a non-destructive testing method and its use in the detection of material corrosion. The first part describes the theoretical principles dealing with the explanation of what acoustic emission is, how it is defined according to the standard, what are the types of acoustic emission and how it is tested. It then discusses corrosion, the types of corrosive environments where corrosion occurs and the types of corrosion tests. It also describes where acoustic emission has been used in practice and what experiments it has been used for in terms of material monitoring. The next part of the paper describes the experiment of acoustic emission measurement on grey cast iron samples, describes the fabrication of the samples, the use of corrosion protectors, and the placement of the samples in a condensation chamber for continuous testing. The last part is the evaluation of the results .
Measurement of the corrosion of the public lighting
Jalový, Michal ; TSB,, Josef Šaroun, provozně-technický ředitel (referee) ; Krutílek, David (advisor)
This thesis describes corrosion degradation processes taking place on the surface of metal materials in different environments. The theoretical part deals with basic environments we encounter in practice. This part specifies protection of materials against the aggressive environments and provides principles of corrosion measurement. It analyses the issue of corrosion measurement and its impact on mechanical strength of structures. It deals with the application of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) method for measurement of public lighting corrosion and identification of potential breakdown.

Havlík, Luboš ; Molliková, Eva (referee) ; Pacal, Bohumil (advisor)
My bachelor’s thesis „Corrosion of iron-based alloys and evaluation methods” is about problem corrosion zero in iron-based alloys. This work consist mechanism of corrosion, kinds of corrosion affected, evaluation methods and anti-corrosion precaution
Evaluation of cold kinetic deposition technology (Cold Spray)
Buček, Tomáš ; Zimáková, Jana (referee) ; Binar, Tomáš (advisor)
Cold spray or Cold gas dynamic spraying is actually new process for coating application. Origin of Colds technology spray is thermal spray. Cold spray technology has some advantages therefor any other common thermal technology. Cold spray technology has unique properties mainly due to low deposition temperatures and the physical principle of layer growth. Master’s thesis has focused on the possibility of use for corrosion protection. Accelerated corrosion tests were performed in a condensation chamber with samples of aluminium substrate and low pressure cold sprayed copper layer. The formation of corrosion was evaluated by acoustic emission and metallographic analysis. The anti-corrosion properties of copper have been considered in practical design, as have the unique antibacterial and virus inactivating properties.

Využití zinkových povlaků pro antikorozní ochranu ocelových součástí
Straka, Dominik
This Bachelor thesis „Use of zinc coats for anticorrosive protection of steel components“ characterizes corrosion and its effect on steel materials when being in a corrosive environment. Moreover, it categorizes corrosion and defines various methods of how steel materials can be protected against it. Special focus is given to protection using metal coats with lower electrode potential than Fe. Furthermore, this thesis determines particular methods of how to create metal coats depending on the type of material. Especially, the use of zinc applied by the hot-dipped and galvanic method is discussed. Quick laboratory tests are identified as a suitable method in order to evaluate the quality and resistance of created coats. Finally, lifespan and corrosive resistance of each coat are assessed considering the environment in which these coats are exposed.

Vznik korozního makročlánku u rozebíratelných i nerozebíratelných spojů
Daněk, Lukáš
This diploma thesis is focused on corrosion degradation of technical materials used for fire trucks production. It describes what is corrosion, corrosion environment and protection against effects of corrosion. Further, the thesis describes methods of joining materials in the production of fire tank trucks. In the experimental part the thesis deals with the examination of samples during mechanical and corrosion tests with subsequent evaluation. The examined samples are exposed to the effects of salt mist and then subjected to tensile testing. The most suitable method of joining materials for the construction of fire tank trucks is verified here.

The diploma thesis is focused on proposal corrison protection on machines for application of fertilizers in agriculture. The theoretical part describes the distribution of machines for fertilizer application, issue and species of corrosion. The next section discusses the electrochemical corrosion, its principles and distribution. The final section is an experiment that has analyzed the possibility of using five kinds of corrosion protection evaluation of corrosion tests in laboratory.
Antikorozní ochrana ocelových konstrukcí
Havránek, Tomáš
The bachelor thesis is focused on description used corrosion systems which we currently use to protection steel structure as well as other products subject to corrosion. About corrosion we talk very often. The corrosion causes big damage to buildings, structures, machinery and other. Understanding the mechanism of corrosion may lead to the development of new and more effective methods of protection. The introduction of this work then speaks about corrosion. The work tries to explain the nature of corrosion. In the middle I describe a technology for the corrosion protection of steel and other materials. Closing part is concentrated on the use of corrosion tests for easy recognition of corrosion mechanisms and factors that cause corrosion and support. The result of these tests can be better estimate of aggression environment against materials and used anticorrosive protection.
