Shale gas extraction
Podhorský, Jakub ; Brázdil, Marian (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis on Shale gas extraction describes extraction and world shale gas resources. At the beginning it provides introduction to the terms of geology and overview of historical evolution of extraction and crucial technologies that are currently used in extraction. Shale gas exploration and extraction development is briefly mentioned. Horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing is then further described and also summary of the equipment is provided. Potential environmental risks associated with extraction or hydraulic fracturing itself are described. Subsequently world shale gas resources and potential extraction places are described. World technically recoverable resources are estimated at 7245 Tcf. Shale gas commercial production is currently underway in the United States, Canada and China.
Logistické procesy řezaných květin z Keni do EU a vliv květinářského průmyslu na tamní regionální rozvoj
Šmídová, Markéta
This bachelor´s thesis analyses logistic processes of cut flowers from Kenya to EU. Primary goal is to suggest a change of production and processes of logistic chain with this good and evaluate negative impacts which are embedded with contamination and extraction of water from the Naivasha lake. First part of this thesis contains theoretical research in which is briefly introduced theory of logistics, flower industry, price creation for products, issues concerning pesticides and theory focusing on water footprint and virtual water which is highly connected to the export of cut flowers. Kenyan cut flower industry is being analysed in the second part of this thesis as well as logistic processes of cut flowers to EU. Last chapter is suggesting part where are highlited suggestions, the-ories and precautions that might lead to the improvement of conditions in cut flower industry not only for kenyan population but also for decreasing environmental impacts which are directly linked to cut flower industry
Vliv odkaliště K1 - Dolní Rožínka na kvalitu vody
Šikula, Martin
The subject of this bachelor thesis is evaluation of the influence of sludge lagoon K1 - Dolní Rožínka on various parts of the environment. The thesis summarizes scientific literature focused on legislation, uranium extraction and water environment. In bachelor thesis is characterized the area of interest, bodies of water in the Rožná 1 area and water treatment technologies. The thesis also describes various stages in the remediation and restoration of the sludge lagoon K1 contributing to close down of the entire sludge lagoon. In the practical part are processed data from the river Nedvědička and chemical treatment. The main objective is to analyse the influence of the discharged treated water from chem-ical treatment on the water quality in the river Nedvědička. Another objective is the assessment of the impact of uranium extraction on the air quality and landscape character with a proposal of possible changes to improve the condition.
