Development of the coefficient of friction and lubrication film in a total knee replacement during a gait cycle
Odehnal, Lukáš ; Horák, Zdeněk (referee) ; Ranuša, Matúš (advisor)
This master´s thesis deals with the experimental analysis of the coefficient of friction and lubrication film in total knee replacement. The experiments are performed on a knee joint simulator, with an implemented module for measuring friction. To observe film formation, fluorescent microscopy is used. The experiments are mainly focused on a detailed description of the influence of parameters occurring during the gait cycle. This approach should significantly help in describing the tribological processes that occur in the total knee replacement. The results confirm previous investigations in terms of axial load, where the coefficient of friction decreases with the increasing load. In the case of lubrication film, no significant changes are observed. On the contrary, while investigating the influence of SRR, noticeable changes in film formation are observed while the coefficient of friction being unaffected. While describing the whole gait cycle, precise results are obtained only in the first half of the cycle as the second half is accompanied by the occurrence of large deviations from a rapid decrease of load. This work provides a better understanding of the field of lubrication film in total knee replacements. Moreover, thanks to the simultaneous measurement of the coefficient of friction and the observation of the contact area, it is possible to draw better conclusions than if the experiments had been carried out separately.
A Proposal for a Methodology of a Knee Joint Replacement Tibial Plate 3D Model Creation
Kutálek, Lukáš ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Madaj, Martin (advisor)
This thesis describes the design methodology of the 3D model of the tibial plate. The paper briefly describes the anatomy of a knee joint, the current surgery operation process current tibial components and modeling procedure of the tibial plate for a specific pacient. A physical model was made by means of Rapid Prototyping.
Analysis of Kinematic and Dynamic of Knee Joint
Halama, Jakub ; Dočkal, Kryštof (referee) ; Urban, Filip (advisor)
The bachelor thesis summarizes present knowledge of the knee joint in terms of its mechanics, it compares joint kinematics and dynamics during various locomotor activities of daily living such as: gait, standing up from the chair, ascending and descending stairs, running. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on the changes in the motion and loading of the joint in the cases of osteoarthritis and knee replacement in comparison with healthy individuals. Lastly, it also describes the loading asymmetries between healthy and affected knee.

Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient after Total Knee Replacement
Trombi, Osama Ali ; Maršáková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Kučerová, Ilona (referee)
Title of the Thesis: Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient after Total Knee Replacement. Author: Osama Ali Trombi Work Placement: Rehabilitační Nemocnice Beroun Summary I divided the bachelor's thesis, which I wrote myself, into two parts. The first is the general part, which describes the overall anatomy of the knee joint (bones, muscles, ligaments, nerves and blood supply), as well as surgical and non-surgical approaches to the treatment of the knee joint. Furthermore, information on the kinesiological and biomechanical properties of the knee joint. In the second part, the practical part, I analyzed the procedures I performed with the patient. All clinical examinations including their results, subsequent therapeutic sessions, final assessment and results of conclusions are also included in the practical part of the bachelor thesis. The final part contains a list of used literature, tables, abbreviations, patient consent and the consent of the ethics committee. Key Words: knee joint, physiotherapy treatment, Knee replacement, knee exercises, Osteoarthritis.
Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of arthrosis patient after total knee replacement

Title: A Case study of physiotherapy treatment of arthrosis patient after total knee replacement. Thesis aim: The aim of this thesis is to review the rehabilitation of a patient after total knee replacement due to osteoarthritis. It is divided into two parts theoretical part review and describe the anatomical structure of the knee, kinesiology, biomechanics and development and disease. The practical part aims to describe the examination procedures, therapy implementations and conclusion for the patient in relation to the given diagnose. Clinical findings: This case study reviews the condtion of a 50 years old patient after a total knee replacement. The patient had limited mobility and restricted joints around the operated side. There right knee has a swelling, change of skin colour, temperature and a scar. Methods: All the used procedures were based on the literature given thought by the Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports. Result: patient was committed to the therapeutic sessions , the patient case progressed positively with the pain, range of motion and muscle imbalance for the knee joints. Conclusion: The applied therapies had a positive effective for patient case. Keywords: Osteoarthritis, Knee joint, Varus deformity, knee pain, Ankle stiffness , knee replacement.
