Properties of wood of different ages considering heat exposition
Helanová, Ester ; Hradil,, Petr (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
This thesis discusses the experimental verification of sorption and mechanical properties of fir wood from the 17th to 21th century. The wood of different ages is thermally treated with temperature of 60°C, 120°C and 180°C for a 17 hours. The effect of thermal treatment of wood on the isothermal sorption characteristics and compressive strength in fiber direction is evaluated.
Testování účinnosti vybraných povolených přípravků proti patogenním houbovým organismům dřevin v podmínkách in vitro
Ellingerová, Eva
This diploma thesis deals with testing the effectiveness of six selected approved preparations against pathogenic fungal organisms of woody plants in in vitro conditions. Specifically, they are Propizol (propiconazole), Phosphojet (potassium dihydrogen phosphate), Horizon 250 EW (tebuconazole), Ortiva (azoxystrobin), Topas 100 EC (penconazole) and Previcur Energy (fosetyl, propamocarb). Solutions of different concentrations (from 0.0001 % to 100 %) were prepared from these fungicidal substances, which were subsequently tested against the pathogenic fungal organisms Cylindrocarpon cylindroides and Sphaeropsis sapinea. The selected pathogens mainly attack conifers. In the case of Cylindrocarpon cylindroides, it is the genus Abies, and in the case of Sphaeropsis sapinea, the genus Pinus. All operations were carried out in the phytopathological and mycological laboratory at the Institute of Forest Protection and Hunting. Here, the tested pathogens were regularly checked and measured. After 13 weeks, the effectiveness of individual fungicidal preparations at given concentrations on 2 selected fungal pathogens was evaluated. The results show effective fungicidal preparations as well as preparations that, on the contrary, support the growth of the pathogen. The most effective fungicidal substance in both cases of pathogens was Horizon 250 EW (tebuconazole), which stopped the mycelium growth of both pathogens already at a 1 % concentration of the active substance.

Conventional food packaging materials face incoming innovations with intention to increase the sustainability of packaging industry a to extend the shelf life of food. Theoretical thesis focuses on describing all the possible groups of packaging materials and the current legislation required. Special attention is given to active, intelligent and edible packaging. The review concludes with information about food packaging safety and its impact on consumer health. Bisphenol A, melamine, formaldehyde or phthalates belong to the substances restricted in recent years. In this point of view the food packaging safety is limited by the amount of toxicological data and migration studies. Edible packaging brings solution for extending shelf life of food, most promising results have been found in delaying microbial spoilage and maintaining sensory properties of foodstuff for longer period of time. For practical applications European union still lacks any regulations.
Zhodnocení škod mrazem na zakládaných lesních kulturách v podmínkách ŠLP ML Křtiny
Patáková, Aneta
On the forest property managed by ŠLP ML Křtiny, an assessment of the damage caused by late frosts on the plantations of forest trees was carried out. Data collection took place at the beginning of the growing season (from May to June), when woody plants begin to sprout and are exposed to the greatest risk of damage from late frosts. Frost events were measured using TMS data loggers, which record the ground air temperature using temperature sensors. The assessment was carried out on young cultures of beech, oak, spruce and fir with a maximum age of 3 years. A total of 28 leguminous areas of different sizes (categories up to 0.1; 0.11 – 0.5 and over 0.51 ha) were evaluated, on which the average damage of the assimilation apparatus was determined on a representative sample of 100 seedlings. The results showed that the most sensitive tree species to late frosts are beech (damaged 56.9 ±30.7% of seedlings) and fir (52.4 ±46.6%).
Dendrochronologické datování a stavebněhistorické hodnocení krovu kostela svatého Jakuba Staršího v Omicích (okres Brno-venkov)
Tetur, Vladan
The aim of this work is determination of the age of roof construction of the Roman Catholic church of St. Jacob the Elder in Omics, using dendrochronological analysis. In this work is describes a standard procedure for dendrochronological dating from the sampling, editing, measurement and dating. There is also incorporated building-historical development of the building, where the effort is to determine chronologically the development of the whole building from historical literary sources. The roof of the church is mainly built of fir wood, except for two old oak binding beams, and binding beam belfry which is spruce. The fir trees used on the roof over the presbytery were cut away in autumn or winter in 1874 or in winter at the beginning of 1875. The oak trees used on the old binding beams were cut away after 1765. The fir trees above the main ship were cut away after 1917. The spruce tree used for the binding beam of the belfry was cut away in the autumn or winter of 1927 or in the winter of early 1928. Trees used for the bell tower failed to date. Using dendrochronological dating and anatomical wood building analysis, we were able to supplement or refine the historical development of the church.
Rekonstrukce přípravných porostů břízy bělokoré podsadbami
Souchová, Jana
The aim of the Dissertation Thesis was to assess the oak and fir tree seedling growth rate in the Deštná-Horákova Lhota, Bystřice nad Pernštejnem and Opatovec - Kukle areas. Measurements took place on 22 areas with various intensity release preliminary growth. The following parameters were measured: current height of the above-ground tree plant parts and its height in previous year, yearly growth rate, length of sideways growing tree parts, width of tree crown, height of dual and triple tree trunk parts, deflection of trunk from its vertical axis, width and length of leaf or needle, root neck diameter, multiple tree trunk, straightness of the trunk, multiple tree top, vitality of the plant, damages through animal bites or horn scrapings. It can be concluded that each variation results in different growth rate of the undergrowth. It has been found that the best growth rate under birch tree plants was achieved in a narrow strip of bare of the tree plant beds. The worst growth rate, on the other hand, was observed in the 0.5 tree trunk variation.
Dendrochronologické datování a stavebněhistorické hodnocení krovu kostela sv. Jakuba ve Staré Vsi u Bílovce (okres Nový Jičín)
Sochová, Irena
The aim of the thesis was to make a constructional-historical research and dendrochronological dating of the roof frame (truss) of St. James´s church in Stará Ves near Bílovce (the district of Novy Jicin). It is the case of the roof frame structure of hammerbeam type which was made from fir timber. The result of the dendrochronological analysis has shown that the trees used for the construction of the roof of the nave were fell down between 1712 and 1713. The trees used for the construction of the roof over the chancel were also fell down between 1712 and 1713. The oak bell stool could not be reliably dendrochronologically dated. The results of the dendrochronological analysis correspond to the historical development of the church found out from the literary and historical sources

The purpose of this bachelor work was historical exploration of church of Founded st. Cross in Staříč (district Frýdek-Místek) and determine type of used wooden, roof construction. At first phase was looking for profesional litarature, dealing with problematics of roof construction and history of roof construction and looking for historical information about begining of church. Dating roof was solved by dendrochology. Next phase was knowing used wood (anatomical analysis) all the samples was removed by pressler drill. After that was known fir, as used element in construction and oak, used for construction wooden stool. Fir was cut in (1772 and 1773), corently in fall or winter 1772, or in winter 1773 when this year start. Oak was cut down in (1771 and 1772), corently in fall or winter 1772, or in winter 1773 when this year start. It was 18th. century, so type of construction in this age was hambálková soustava. After comparing this informations with literature, we got result , that hambálek´s roof systém was used as roof construction for this church.Formula clause:Prohlašuji, že jsem práci: Dendrochronologické datování a stavebněhistorické hodnocení krovu kostela Nalezení sv. Gerža, Pavel
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of suitable surface treatment on the surface of degraded wood by atmospheric corrosion for indoor use. In this thesis three types of paint are compared. The paints are nitrocellulose coating, water-borne coating and two-component polyurethane paint. Surface treatments are evaluated for physical and mechanical properties of the surface. The physical and mechanical properties of the degraded surface are compared with the surface of fresh spruce wood prior to the application of paints and after the application of paints. This bachelor thesis also explains the issue of atmospheric degradation of wood and properties of degraded surface.
