Utilization of Financial Analysis as a Tool for Investment Decisions

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to analyze intently selected financial indicators of joint-stock companies operating in a beverage industry that are listed on the US stock market. The first part of the thesis elaborates theoretical concepts related to shares, investments, specific methods of a financial analysis and the American stock market. In the practical part an analysis of the ratio indicators will be conducted, followed by a credit and bankruptcy model and concluded with a comparison of the results. Lastly, recommendations for investments into certain companies will be provided.

The subjekt of this diploma thesis is evaluation of the investment project of the company in order to prepare an investment recommendation fot the company. In the theoretical part of the diploma thesis, there will be presented procedures, which will be applied in decision making in the practical part of the thesis. In this case, investment options will be assessed using these methods and the most appropriate investment recommendation for the company will be drawn up.

This diploma thesis on the topic "Use of financial analysis as an instrument of investment decision-making" processes the financial evaluation of the economy and the effectiveness of selected investment decisions in the past years using methods of financial analysis. For this purpose, I chose the monitored period from 2012 to 2018. In the first part of the thesis, attention is paid to the evaluation of performance and financial sustainability in terms of implemented and planned investments of the theoretical base. The methods and analyzes used also include the methodology of their calculation. The second part deals with the individual indicators applied to Škoda Auto a.s., based in Mladá Boleslav a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group. In addition, this section addresses the approach and decision making of the management of the company on investment projects that have already been planned or are planned in the near future, and recommendations are proposed for improving.

Selected shares of the automotive industry in the European Union will be compared.The theoretical part of the bachelor´s thesis describes the procedures that are applied in the practical part on the analyzed shares of the companies using information from public sources. At the end of the thesis, according to the most frequent analyzes, the best investment recommendation is made.

Bachelor’s thesis is focused on fundamental stock analysis of eurozone airline companies, their intercompany comparation and their verification considering possibility of bankruptcy. In the theoritical part are explained methods of fundamental analysis and theoritical information related to collective investing and hedge funds. In the practical part is created an analysis and a comparation of these companies. Then there is in the practical part a calculated model of bankruptcy for each company. In the next chapter there is created investment recommendation based on acquired data.

Diploma thesis deals with the buy-side fundamental analysis of the publicly traded company. The analysis is followed by a top-down approach. First, macroeconomic factors that affect the intrinsic value of the stock are analyzed. Then industry and company factors are analyzed. The result of the thesis is the determination of the intrinsic value of the stock and its comparison with the current market price on the stock exchange. Further, the verification of the underpricing that occurred at the primary issue of the stocks on the stock market. Subsequently, there is made the investment recommendation with an annual horizon.

Analytical segment consists of comparison of Czech and foreign real estate funds and stock index PX (or PX-TR). Recommendations for investors are formed in the last part of the thesis.
