Evaluating the Need for Truck Centres on the D1 Motorway between Prague and Brno
Spáčil, Tomáš ; Kudláček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Libertín, Josef (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with a design of truck-centres count and location near the motorway D1. This design is a result of aspects which can influent truck-centres‘ count, size and location. There are derived the aspects on the basis of calculation of freight transport intensity till the year 2030 and its concurrence to accident frequency, traffic flow regulation, and also its concurrence to management of personnel labour (AETR), means of eventual maintenance need and means of vehicles’ reparation, services for motorway attendants and finally its concurrence to possibilities of controls by public authorities and police. In order to regulate freight transport traffic flows is calculated size of parking spaces and suggested their appropriate locations.
Southern bypass Kyjov
Guráň, Pavel ; Smítal, Petr (referee) ; Holcner, Petr (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the study of the route of the road I/54 south of the town of Kyjov with regard to the valid zoning plans of the municipalities concerned. The projected bypass will primarily divert traffic off the southern part of the town. The reasons for constructing the bypass are to divert heavy transit traffic, to increase safety in the town and to reduce the negative impacts of transport. The diploma thesis further includes the study of the potential route of the road II/432 west of the city. The projected western bypass is based on the conceptual plans of the South Moravian Region. The western bypass will prospectively divert traffic off the town and enable the connection to the western area of Kyjov.
Lipůvka – turbo roundabout of roads I/43 and II/379
Patočka, Miroslav ; Sedlák, Lubomír (referee) ; Smělý, Martin (advisor)
This thesis builds on previous work on an Institute of Roads FAST VUT dealing with modifications of road I/43 Brno – Svitavy. A conversion of the existing temporary three leg single lane roundabout to egg turbo roundabout with four legs, is proposed there, in accordance with local plan of Lipůvka. The intersection of road I/43 and II/379 can be characterized by large congestions in the morning peak hours during weekdays and afternoon peak hours on Saturday and Sunday. That is the reason for implementation of capacity assessment of designed turbo roundabout and comparison with current situation. Construction of fourth leg is motivated by the planned expansion of residential area and the development of industrial zone on the south-western outskirts of the village and rerouting of the county road II/379 out of built-up area as well. Road I/43 is an important thoroughfare north of Brno, so it is obvious effort to eliminate the bottlenecks on the route. The thesis also includes a theoretical introduction dealing with the design of turbo roundabouts abroad.
Optimization Of Selected Proposed ČSN Elements For Urban Road Design
Šilar, Daniel ; Heinrich, Jaroslav (referee) ; Radimský, Michal (advisor)
The purpose of this diploma thesis „Optimization Of Selected Proposed ČSN Elements For Urban Road Design„ is car parks at shopping centers. Goal of this thesis is to compare calculation parameters for car parks according to Czech standards for design of local communication with standards in selected countries in the world. Another goal of this work is to fill in missing information for assessment of capacity of connections to ground communication for various types of shopping centers. Second part of the work is focused on the measurement itself and data analysis. The last part of the work consists of comparison of calculated parking places according to standards with real number of parking places.
Modification of signalized intersection in Kunovice
Kosňovská, Vendula ; Dorňák, David (referee) ; Smělý, Martin (advisor)
The main theme of the master’s thesis is optimization of traffic on the signalized intersection on náměstí Svobody in Kunovice. Here is project of new signal plans with minimal conversions at the crossroads to maximal lifetime of signalized intersection.
Ústí nad Orlicí - modification of náměstí Svobody
Šeda, Matěj ; Coufalíková, Iva (referee) ; Smělý, Martin (advisor)
Thesis subject is a project documentation as a proposal of eliptical roundabout replacing current intersection. In the proposal is designed foot-path and transfer of the bus stop. Vehicles will be rectified by horizontal road markings and the center dividing island of the roundabout. There was measured actual traffic flow intensity. Reviews of perspective intensity for current and newly designed state are part of the thesis.
Parking at Shopping Malls
Woldán, Pavel ; Všetečka, Martin (referee) ; Kosňovský, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the problematic area of parking possibilities near shopping centres. The aim is to compare the amount of parking lots as already counted with according to ČSN 73 6110 in comparison with my own observation. The very first part of the thesis focuses on the theoretical analysis description according to ČSN 73 6110. The second part organises my own individual estimation and measurements along with the data evaluation. The final part weighs the comparison of given result with the figures given by the norm. The overall research is fully rounded up in the end.
Bypass Bučovice
Guráň, Pavel ; Apeltauer, Jiří (referee) ; Holcner, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis investigates the possible construction of the road I/50 in the city of Bučovice. It respects the environment and life in the city. In particular, the proposed bypass will conduct the transit traffic out of the city center. The reason for the bypass construction is to increase safety in the city, and to reduce other negative effects. These negative effects are traffic intensity, noise, emissions and vibration from heavy-duty vehicles. There are three variants of the route planning. One of them is based on the local plan, and runs through the southern part of the city. The remaining variants run entirely away from the city. The multi-criteria evaluation and the comparison of the solved options is available as well.
Distribution strategy after opening the northern highway in the Czech Republic
Jindrová, Věra ; Fábry, Jan (advisor) ; Kuncová, Martina (referee)
The aim of this work is to simulate and to try to predict a distribution strategy by opening the northern highway in the Czech Republic based on the current traffic flows and existing trends. The speedway R35 will be after the completion of all platforms the northern backbone route connecting Bohemia and Moravia. With an overall length of 260 km it will be the longest Czech speedway. Another attraction of this highway is the connection of four regional cities and six strokes crossing the motorway network. The prediction of traffic volume will have a task to reveal the simulation model of overt and covert traffic flows, including the approximate volumes of traffic. The author assumes that the completion of the R35 between Mohelnice and eastern Bohemia will have a strategic importance not only for relieving highway D1, but also due to the conversion of the distribution strategy in the whole country, including new opportunities for the construction of distribution centers strategically located.
