The growing indebtedness of Czech households: a case study of single mothers

The thesis "the growing indebtedness of Czech households: a case study of single mothers" deals with the issue of indebtedness of Czech households with a focus on single mother's debt. This is a topic not too popular, but in this time of increasing household debt is still very topical. The primary objective of this study is to determine what are the causes of indebtedness of single-parent families (single mothers). In addition, determine whether it is appropriate to deal with the problem in general or specifically focusing on a particular group. Finally, the author deals with the topic of social networks, which may or may not have an effect on the debt ratio of the selected groups of people, and also focuses on finding, if enough of the non-profit organizations that can help single mothers complex living situation. The author uses to fulfill the aforementioned objectives analysis of documents, analysis of the relevant legal framework, in particular, of law No 182/2006 Coll. on bankruptcy and the ways of its solution, further analysis of the service and consultancy activities relating to the non-profit sector, the analysis of technical articles from abroad (for inspiration this solution in the Czech Republic) and finally carries out qualitative half structured interviews with the actresses and also with the...

Assessment of the financial situation of a particular enterprise

This Bachelor thesis is based on an assessment of the financial situation of a specific company Dopravní podnik města České Budějovice, a. s. The financial and economic situation is assessed using the indicators of the financial analysis during the period 2007 2012. The theoretical part of the thesis includes the definition of financial analysis and the explanation of what and whom it serves. It also contains the necessary sources of information, techniques and methods used in a financial analysis. The practical part includes the application of indicators to a specific company. First, the movement of funds is expressed by the vertical and horizontal analysis. Then the financial situation is analyzed by net working capital and indicators of liquidity, profitability, indebtedness and activity. These indicators are compared with a set of five comparable companies. According to the results of those common indicators and comparison with a set of companies I suggested a few improvements that could help the company.

Financial analysis of Michelské pekárny, a.s.

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to undertake financial analysis of limited company Michelské pekárny. The analysis was based on data from the period 2006 - 2010. The thesis is divided into two parts. First part is methodical and it explains use of models and indicators. The second practical part starts horizontal and vertical analysis of balance sheet and income statement. It also deals with assessment ratios, creditworthy and bankruptcy models and intercompany comparison with two similar firms in the same market segment. There is also made analysis of break-even point from which follows, that company deal with the long-term loss only systematic cost reductions. At the end of this part is made a brief SWOT analysis. The conclusion indicated the final summary and recommendations for improvement in some indicators.

U.S External Economic Balance

Diploma thesis deals with the US external economic balance, particularly balance of payments, international investment position, indebtness and the dollar exchange rate. The first part includes the theoretical approach to external economic balance and related terms. Furthermore, I focus on the status of current and financial account of the United States in detail. Here I evaluate the balances of BOP parts and search for the explanation of this situation. I also focus on international investment position of the United States, the development of foreign direct investment and debt indicators. The work also contains a detailed analysis of the U.S. balance of payments for the years 2004 - 2008. The last section is a treatise on the history of the dollar, development of its rate, expected future developments and relationships with U.S. major trading partner, China.

Indebtness of Households and Financial Markets Stability

During last 20 years there was huge boom in the financial markets thanks to increase of household indebtness. This work studies acceleration of consumer and mortgage debt in EU, USA and Czech Republic during 1990 -- 2007. Due to liberalization and interest rate volatility there was an unprecedented increase of indebtness thanks to very low mortgage interest rates. Goal of this work is to analyze situation in countries, compare developments between them and find similarities which are typical for them. This works also focuses on financial stability in Czech Republic and influence of eventual insolvency on this stability. Besides households there is description of financial markets with mortgage securities and its possible threats.
