Title of the thesis: The role of the director in Moliere's Tartuffe. Keywords: Molière, comédien (actor), dramaturgie (dramaturgy), hypocrite (hypocrite), hypocrisie (hypocrisy). Abstract The thesis entitled De l'implication du metteur en scène dans l'interprétation de Tartuffe examines the most important problems and storylines in two stage interpretations of Tartuffe. The aim of this thesis is to compare the play in French and Czech and analyze the similarities and differences between two versions. Moreover, this work is intended to show how directors at La Comedie-Française and Realistické Divadlo put the comedy on the stage guided by their personal perception of the original text or translation and to what extent they follow the rules of classicism. The thesis consists of an introduction, a methodological section, seven main chapters and a conclusion. The introduction is devoted to a general description of Molière and King Louis XIV. The methodological section outlines the structure of the thesis. The following chapters constitute the core of the thesis. The first chapter delineates the traces of religion in Tartuffe and the reasons why Molière was not allowed to put on this play for a long time. Theme of love in Moliere's main works

This bachelor's thesis theme is an analysis of love in selected Moliere's works. Love is present as an element that shapes various characters in author's works. They most frequently dissert with love of young people whose parents are laying obstacles in the way of their love. In some cases, love has even a more important role (Misantrop). It can even be the substance of the relevant work, as is the case of Don Juan and, in a way, of Amfitryon. School for Wives and the texts related to it are a specific case, whereas not only love is in question but the matters of woman's lot itself. The goal of this thesis is to show in which aspects we can find the theme of love in Moliere's works and what importance it has in his plays.

Three critical voices of post-war American literature

The thesis deals with critical views of the post-war American society as found in three literary works: Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman, J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye and Jack Kerouac's On the Road. The thesis's aim is to introduce briefly the post-war society and then, on basis of text analysis, to provide criticism expressed by each book mentioned above. Divided into four main parts, it describes the post-war situation in the United States (political, social and cultural) and thereafter it focuses on the books itself. It provides a short biographical summary of each author's life but it mainly targets the criticism the book contains. The post-war period was significant because of the change it brought. The society of the 1950s was characterized by many "booms" that contributed to its development. The main features of this period were consumerism and materialism; these were also the principal things subjected to criticism. The question the thesis wants to answer is whether this criticism was justified or not. This objective is realized in the conclusion. Based on all facts provided by the thesis, the answer is that the criticism was justified; however, it is not so easy and it is necessary to read the whole thesis to understand all reasons that led to this conclusion and to think over...

The Sokolov Baptist Church Development after 1989

The work deals with the analysis of the development of Baptist church in Sokolov after 1989, which suffered a split in 2001. The theoretical part concerns basic ecclesiological backgrounds, principles of building a healthy church and briefly touches on the history and theological emphases of the Baptist Union in the Czech Republic. The practical part presents a description and analysis of specific church life events based on interviews with former and current members. Comparison of the results from the practical analysis with the theoretical part attempts to identify the causes within this community, which caused the split.
