Hyaluronan effect on transdermal penetration of selected pharmaceutical substances
Ureš, Tomáš ; Sedláček, Petr (referee) ; Pekař, Miloslav (advisor)
This work deals with the transmittance of a family of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs across biological membranes in combination with the use of hyaluronan. Hyaluronic acid (hyaluronan, HYA) is a linear polysaccharide formed from disacharide units containing N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and glucuronic acid. HYA is present in almost all biological fluids and tissues, so there is an assumption that could affect the penetration of substances through the skin. Standards were prepared by anti-inflammatory drugs in admixture with various concentrations hyaluronan and subsequently measured transmittance of such substances through the skin. Standards were applied to the skin obtained from pig auricle. The drug content was determined by HPLC.
Hyaluronan for targeted drug delivery
Ureš, Tomáš ; Vávrová, Milada (referee) ; Pekař, Miloslav (advisor)
Hyaluronic acid (hyaluronan, HA) is a linear polysaccharide formed from disacharide units containing N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and glucuronic acid. HA is present in almost all biological fluids and tissues. In many cancer cells there is an upregulation of CD44, a receptor that binds HA. The receptor CD44 collocates hyaluronan in the special way. The bioconjugates built-up from the cytotoxic substances and hyaluronan are called prodrugs. The prodrugs can be used for targeted drug delivery system. Their main advantage is there is no need to medicine so high doses of pharmaceuticals and their adverse side effects are minimized. Hyaluronan can be used as well as the intra-articulation injection by osteoarthritis. HA is also used as the nutrition of joints, by treatment for diverse dermatic lesions, the repair of scars and it can be the ingredient of eye drops and nasal sprays. The cosmetic manufactures add HA into anti-wrinkle creams and anti-aging care.
Hydrodynamic properties of hyaluronan-lysin systems
Kunert, Vojtěch ; Kratochvílová, Romana (referee) ; Chytil, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis studies the interactions of hyaluronan with partly protonized amino acids lysine and arginine. Rheology and viscosimetry were used to analyze the interactions. pH-metry and conductance measurements were used to check the interactions. Individual mixtures were measured and the data was compared to each other, but also in terms of partly and complete protonization. The interactions have been observed in all selected concentrations.

Flow properties of hyaluronan colloids
Gabrielová, Michaela ; Ptáček, Petr (referee) ; Pekař, Miloslav (advisor)
The purpose of this study is to zoom in implication of flow properties of hyaluronan colloids with respect to physiological role. In the first part I will introduce physical formulation and definition of flow properties and reology, process to its measurement and utilization. In the second part you can read about hyaluronic acid and colloids of its salts. In this part I will focus on first studies of hyaluronic acid throught its occurence to its chemical properties. Within this work I will try to demonstrate interconnection of both subjects.
