Work and activity of organist is in Slovakia for several centuries a long tradition. As in the past also at present remains a function of organist an important site of spiritual life, but also even from the perspective of professional music business. In Slovakia are seen various professions of musical life as singers, conductors, pianists and violinists, but the music profession of organist is in recent years slowly losing the awareness of especially the younger generation. The objective of our thesis is therefore to bring more activities of the Slovak organist, his job resulting from his duties either as a church musician, a professional organ musician or a teacher. Part of our thesis is also mapping out a situation of the social enforcement and the position of organist in the Slovak society.

History of interpretation and understanding of European music in Japan
Keiko, Michiyo ; KUSNJER, Ivan (advisor) ; HLAVÁČ, Jiří (referee)
The history of European music in Japan: how people have changed their perception, understanding and interpretation of it over the past 150 years. During the reign of the Tokugawa Shogunate, Japan was closed off from the rest of world. It was only with the arrival of US warships in 1853, that one year later the country was forced to terminate its isolation. More than 150 years have passed since Japanese people began to listen to and appreciate western music, and it has been 136 years (1879) since Western music was first introduced into the Japanese school education system. 150 years is not a long enough time-span. So how has the Japanese approach to Western music developed in these years? In this work, I consider the adoption and development of Western music in Japan not only against a musical background but also from a historical perspective; I take into account factors such as the development of Japanese culture and industry not to mention the unique character and attitudes of the Japanese people.
Position of church Organist in the czech Lands
Kšica, Přemysl ; POPELKA, Josef (advisor) ; TŮMA, Jaroslav (referee)
Nowadays we can be witnesses of an opinion, that in czech country was always in the area of czech church music strong tradition amateur musicians´ influence. Supposedly, that it ever was, is correct, that it is still also today. An aim of this work is not to declaim a role of amateur musicians, but an effort to point to aspects, when is required, even irreplaceable a profesionality. It should be awarded a proper significance, which is unfortunately not always well understanded. In a church praxis is often made a difference in an attitude, if it is about amateur organist or profesionalist, and not just in a financial apprasial point of view.
