Social housing policy towards families with difficult access to housing market

This thesis is focused on social housing for families as a specific housing policy instrument for securing housing of families with children who are for various reasons disadvantaged on the free housing market. In the thesis social housing is understood as a way towards fulfilment of the right to adequate housing and at the same time as an instrument for supporting families in their function of securing healthy development of their children in a safe environment. The aim of the thesis is to contribute to the actual debate on the creation of the state policy of social housing. It is done mainly by the mapping of housing and social policy on the state and local level. Local policy of social housing is explored particularly in five city districts of the capital city of Prague. The research draws data from documents of the city districts and interviews with the officials from property departments and social departments, in particular with the heads of child welfare sections. The research shows that the access of families with children to the instruments of local housing policy is always in some way limited. The city districts vary in the level of these limits. Client´s support through social services - the path to independence or dependence?

This work aims to find out how the former long-term users orphanages solve problems in different areas of their lives after leaving from these devices. The theoretical part describes the system of alternative care for children and adolescents in the Czech Republic and also I have focused on the characteristics of children's homes and departures from them. The survey was carried out through interviews with former long-term users of orphanages. To achieve the goals I set out general indicators arising from theoretical knowledge. Most of the findings coincided with the theoretical part, only the area of housing has not been evaluated by respondents as problematic. Investigations pointed to the lack of user awareness of possible participation in projects and related services that would initially be helpful.

Building savings as a tool for solving of housing problems

The bachelor's thesis focuses on building savings as a tool for solving of housing problems. The thesis is divided into theoretical part and practical part. Concepts that are used in the field of building savings, changes in particular years and influence on the economy of the Czech Republic are discussed in the first part of the thesis. The practical part deals with the analysis of specific examples of building savings, the years when they were the most profitable and the effect which the changes in building savings had on particular subjects are researched.
