The thesis is focused on the origin and history of ski societies, clubs and ski centres in the Ore Mountains. For finding those facts and the events I had used and studied chronicles, annual reports, literature, start lists and photographs that document skiing in the Ore Mountains. The relevant part of this thesis are visits to ski museums and especially conversations with contemporaries and participants of ski competitions. The dissertation deals with the history of skiing as a whole and subsequently focuses on the sphere of the Karlovy Vary part of Ore Mountains, especially the region of Abertamy and its vicinity.

SUMMARY: Title: The development of ski bindings after World War II Objectives: The objective of the work is to capture and describe the major events in the development of the downhill bindings that took place since the end of II. World War II to the present. Methodology: The work has a historical character using histographic methods supplemented by a content analysis of the document. In particular, the historical, chronological and direct method was used to supplement the content analysis of the document Conclusion: A summary of the data in chronological form enriches the theoretical background of skiing history. History of ski jumping in Czechoslovakia and Czech lands

The thesis deals with the history of ski jumping in the area of the Czech Republic. Based on the available sources it presents a concise description of the development of skiing and ski jumping, not only in the Czech lands but also in the countries where these sports originated. Through subsequent study it proceeds to focus on key points in the historical transformation of ski jumping. The thesis deals with the construction of jumping hills, measuring the length of a ski jump and its scoring as well as the ski jumping technique. The thesis also maps the Czech regions where the ski jumping has been practiced traditionally, more thoroughly focusing on the most important centres today, namely Harrachov, Liberec and Frenštát pod Radhoštěm. In the end the thesis introduces selected representatives of the Czech ski jumping sport, both of the glorious past and the present.
