Index listovej plochy a priestorová distribúcia asimilačného aparátu v poraste buku lesného (Fagus sylvatica L.)
Haninec, Pavel
One of the most important parameters determining penetration of the photosynthetically active radiation (FAR) through the forest canopy is the leaf area index (LAI). In this thesis we concerned with a comparison of direct and indirect approaches of determining LAI and the vertical distribution of LAI in the canopy. There have been used three optical methods, using the device LiCor LAI 2200 Plant Canopy Analyzer, LaiPen and hemispherical photography. Also, we used the method of estimation LAI using airborne laser scanning. There was created allometric relationship between leaf area and the perimeter of the sample trees. These trees were also destructively processed and based on those, there were created the diagrams of the vertical distribution of leaves in the crowns of these trees. The individual values of the measured leaf area index, were in amplitude from 3.69 m2.m-2 to 11.80 m2.m-2 and the indirect methods underestimated the direct approach in average of 28.46%.
Relationship of assimilation of forest stands to interception in selected watersheds
Macounová, Kristina ; Vlček, Lukáš (advisor) ; Chuman, Tomáš (referee)
The main topic of the submitted bachelor thesis is the assessment of the leaf area index (LAI) by means of hemispherical photographs. Its text is also occupied with the interception as the additional use of hemispherical scanning. The measurements took place in several forest stands. The territories of interest are situated in the catching basin of the brook Rokytka in the Czech National Park Šumava, in the Tetřivčí potok (Grouse Creek) surroundings, in the contiguity of the village Zbytiny (Prachatice district) and in the German National Park Bayerischer Wald. The text includes characterization of habitats in which the field measurements were carried out, and describes the measurement techniques. Key words: Leaf area index (LAI), interception, hemispherical photographs, fisheye
The sprouting dynamics of coppices on experimental clear-cuts of Podyjí National park
Pech, Jiří ; Bače, Radek (advisor) ; Čada, Vojtěch (referee)
This bachelor thesis is dealing with literature review of the subject coppice and coppice-with-standards forest in Czech Republic as well as in Europe. It is concerned with definition of these coppice systems, historical and current progress of coppice and its distribution in Czech Republic and European Union. Further questions of the thesis are, if there is any reason to continue or to renovate silviculture of coppice and if so, for what reasons and what is optimal rotation period in coppice. Description of principal tree species with sprouting ability in Central Europe are included in the thesis as well. In the second part of the bachelor thesis sprouting ability in experimental research plots in National Park Podyjí are evaluated. The sprouting ability is evaluated for three principal tree species in Central Europe, oak, linden and hornbeam. The thesis compares interspecies relations in the initial growing speed of the shoots and the ability to produce the shoots in relation to diameter of the stump. Further the thesis is dealing with growing speed in relation to the amount of available light. Measuring, after five growing seasons, in total of twelve experimental plots, discovered the highest sprouting ability by linden (87%), then oak (43%) and hornbeam (32%). The thesis pointed out the significant interspecies differences in the ability to produce shoots. But the reliance of shoots producing on stump diameter has not been proved (for oak and hornbeam). Because the relationship between the height increment of shoots and the amount of available light was not significantly demonstrate, it can be assumed, that experimental plots (forest clearing) are extensive enough and the sprouting ability is not limited by the amount of available light.
Světelné poměry na výzkumných plochách v sekundárním tropickém deštném lese ostrova Borneo (Sabah, Malajsie)
Brandejsová, Markéta
The aim of this work is to evaluate the light conditions on research plots in secondary tropical rain forest of Borneo (Sabah, Malaysia) using hemispherical photographs, their subsequent processing in the CAN-EYE software and placement in forest quality. The results were processed in the STATISTICA software using box graphs and ANOVA. Relation between the canopy cover and forest quality and height of photography has been evaluated.
