Haptic models for visually impaired according to animal wall paintings at Chateau Kratochvíle.

Theoretical part of the Master's thesis is focused on South-Bohemian Rosenberg family who prominently influenced political events in Czech lands. First chapter is dealing with the last representatives of Rosenbergs whose influence is perceptible, among other things, also in cultural development of the country. The sign of this influence is the chateau Kratochvíle which is discussed in detail in the next part of this thesis. The main emphasis is put on the chateau decorations, namely the hunting themes and depicted animals. The thesis also focuses on buildings analogous to Kratochvíle, situated in Czech Republic as well as abroad. The aim of this paper was to create a haptic model based on the mural paintings of animals in the Kratochvíle chateau. Therefore, the last chapter is concerned with the problematics of visually impaired people.Created haptic models were made of fired ceramic clay and acrylic paints. It will serve as an aid for visually impaired vistiors of the chateau. It is a part of currently-prepared exhibition called "Last Rosenbergs: Haptic models for visually impaired people"

This diploma thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is devoted to depicting biblical themes in the history of art from their beginnings up to the early modern period, especially in connection with the South Bohemian chateau Kratochvíle and its fresco decoration. Furthermore, the text deals with depicting the story of Samson and Delilah, which is also part of the paintings on the ceiling of the Small Gold Hall at the chateau. In connection with the practical part of the work, the final chapter of the theoretical article focuses on the issue of visual impaired people, including the creation of haptic models as compensatory aids for these individuals.The creation of a haptic model as an aid for blind visitors to Kratochvíle chateau became the goal of the practical part of the thesis. The aforementioned fresco depicting Samson and Delilah served as a model for the depiction. The resulting relief was made of sharpened ceramic argil and painted with acrylic paint. The model is accompanied by a set of sketches that were used to make it. The haptic model is primarily intended for the visually impaired, but will also serve the general public, as it should be exhibited in the Kratochvíle chateau.

This bachelor thesis consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters. The first chapter focuses on the basic characteristics of portraiture in the history of art. The chapture describes selected artistic directions and their characteristic properties associated with portraiture. The next chapture focuses on the life of the last lords of Rosenberg - William and Petr Vok. The third chapture deals with Kratochvíle chateau, its appearance and history from the beginning of construction to the present. The last chapture deals with the topic of visually impaired people. This chapture outlines the issue of using compensatory aids - such as haptic models for these individuals. The aim of practical part of this bachelor thesis was to create haptic models for the blind and visually impaired by portraits William and Petr Vok from Rosenberg. Both models will be part of the exhibitions at Kratochvíle chateau.

This bachelor thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. First chapter of the theoretical part deals with the issue of renaissance woman in society. It shows a woman in role as a virgin, wife and widow; it describes education that every woman had to go through; and it looks at noble woman in point of view of aristocracy. Second chapter of the theoretical part is dedicated to a specific noblewoman Polyxena of Lobkowicz, maden name Polyxena of Pernstein and describes her lifeway. Last chapter of the teoretical part deals with the problematics of perception of visual impairment and focuses on the methodology of compensatory aids, especially haptic models for visually impaired ones. Practical part of this bachelor thesis has the goal to transform the Polyxena's paintings into the haptic model in the form of relief which is primarily intended for the blind and partially sighted.

The theoretical part deals with the history of the Rosenberg family. The main emphasis is placed on the so-called last Rosenbergs, especially on Petr Vok of Rožmberk and his work in southern Bohemia. Furthermore, this part describes the reconstruction of the ancestral residences, especially the Kratochvíle chateau and the symbol of the Rosenberg rider and the four cardinal virtues as part of the moral virtues of the Rosenberg rulers. The aim of the practical part was to create a haptic model of the Rosenberg rider and four virtues. The model for its creation was a specific stucco ceiling sculpture in the Golden Hall of Kratochvíle Castle. The haptic model was designed on the basis of a set of sketches and subsequently created from fired clay. This model will become part of the upcoming exhibition "Poslední Rožmberkové: Haptické modely pro osoby se zdravotním postižením" at the Kratochvíle State Castle. For this reason, the resulting model is adapter to the properties of people with visual impairments.
Set of worksheets for the exhibition "Haptic models for people with disabilities"

The diploma thesis deals with the creation of a set of worksheets dedicated to the exhibition of haptic models, which are located in the Dominican monastery in České Budějovice. The thesis consists of theoretical and project part. The first part mentioned above deals with the history of the monastery from an architectonic and cultural point of view. Furthermore, individual haptic models are processed both from a historical and descriptive point of view. The thesis also takes into consideration the methodology of creating haptic models for the blind. The last chapter of the theoretical part is focused on museum education as a medium of mediating art to visitors, through self-service worksheets for lower secondary school pupils. It also includes a brief description of the above-mentioned age category. The project part is focused on creating worksheets, including their trial evaluation in the church and the adjacent cloister of the monastery. Its subsequent reflection is also taken into account.

The theoretical and practical diploma thesis deals with the Gothic style in the theoretical part, first from the perspective of the medieval society in three basic roles. In the first chapture there is a description of several contexts of the development of society through the spiritual, knightly and peasant class trought the general foundations of the Gothic style in the level of socio-cultural progression are sought. The work focuses mainly on painting and representation of Virgin Mary with Jesus. In connection to the practical part of the thesis there is also provided the necessary information concerning the ergonomic criteria of haptic aids for visually impaired persons and the location of the original fresco.The purpose of the practical part of the thesis is to transform the mural painting on the wall of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the Piarist Square in České Budějovice into a 3-dimensional haptic aid for visually impaired people. The mid-relief models are made of ceramic casting material using plaster molds. The base is a colored attached polychromized woodboard.
Haptic constellation models of the zodiac

This bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with the problems of blind and visually impaired people and the theory of creating haptic models. It also deals with the development of zodiac across history and its depiction in selected monuments. The aim of the practical part is to create a total of twelve haptic models of the constellation of the zodiac. The models are primarily intended for people with visual impairments, but will also serve the general public. Joachim Herrmann's "Stars" publication serves as a model for the rendition, where the constellations are unified. The resulting models are made of sharpened ceramic clay and painted with acrylic paint. The models are accompanied by a set of drawings that are created in a specially designed vector graphics editor. The resulting set of models will be exhibited in the Jindřichův Hradec Observatory by prof. František Nušl.

The theoretical part of the bachelory thesis focuses on the character of Saint George and the importance of his cult. The emphasis is put mainly on various ways of depiction of this saint in the European context and also in Bohemian countries. Full attention is drawn to the art of painting and wall paintings with regard to the topic of the practical part of presented work. Hence there is mentioned the issue of people with visual disabilities and, in coherence with that, haptic perception. The aim of the practical part of the thesis is to make a haptic model based on the fresco of St. George and the dragon, that is going to work as an aid for the blind or purblind people. The model is made of burnt ceramic clay and coloured with acrylic paints. The created work will be placed in the monastic Church of the Sacrifice of Virgin Mary in České Budějovice as a part of the exposition "Haptic models for disabled people".
Decorative elements of the Gothic architecture

The theoretical part will be devoted to the development of individual decorative elements in the European Gothic architecture. The main emphasis will be placed on the Czech territory, especially on the so-called South Bohemian Gothic. From the decorative elements, the work will focus primarily on the window traverses in connection with the practical part of this work. The aim of the practical part is to create a haptic model of a Gothic window with a decorative tracery, which will be primarily intended for persons with visual disabilities. A specific gothic window from the cloister to the parish court of the Dominican monastery and the Church of the Sacrifice of the Mary, mother of Jesus, in České Budějovice will serve as a template. The resulting model will be made from a drawn gypsum profile and will be accompanied by a set of sketches. At the same time, the haptic model will be part of the exhibition "Haptic models for people with disabilities" in the monastery mentioned above.
