Design of preamplifier for guitar effects generation.
Müller, Radek ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (referee) ; Brančík, Lubomír (advisor)
The topic of my bachelor's project is preamplifier blueprint for creation of certain guitar effects. Output signal from an electric guitar is often modified for musician's needs. My objectives are to discover options of signal modifications, electronical solution of preamplifiers and final effect on sound character. My targets are to design and construct two chosen guitar effects, which will distort the output sigal from an electic guitar. Both wirings will be tested by computer simulation and then will be compared with real circuit wiring. Its necessary to box up the printed circuit board and place control and signal elements to accesible place.
Analog Guitar Multieffect Using Tube for Signal Distortion
Kufa, Michal ; Kincl,, Zdeněk (referee) ; Staněk, Miroslav (advisor)
Presented thesis is oriented on the short survey of guitar effects functionality and the design of chosen guitar effects set embedded into one device. The first effect is related to input signal distortion using a vacuum tube, in this case the couple of double-diode tubes. Next effect is noise gate filtering parasitic artefacts included in input signal lower than set threshold level. The last realized guitar effect is chorus. Each individual effect can be controlled by footswitch. The first two sections are focused on the theory of guitar signal processing, the third section solves the whole design of chosen device, the realization and the proof of designed device functionality are described in further sections.
Analog Guitar Multieffect
Zapletal, Ondřej ; Petržela, Jiří (referee) ; Staněk, Miroslav (advisor)
Presented thesis is focused on guitar effects used for sound modification produced by an electric guitar. The main aim of this thesis is an introduction into guitar effects topic and the design of selected types chosen as follows: overdrive, noise gate and delay. Final multieffect is created by these mentioned components. Another part of presented thesis is the design of source feeding the whole final multieffect. Furthermore, the design of chosen components is presented in this thesis as well as the including of control simulations and PCBs.
Effect amplifier for electric guitar
Kočiš, Martin ; Brančík, Lubomír (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
In the first chapter, the thesis concisely describes perception of harmonic frequency components by human ear. The second chapter introduces the reader into purpose of guitar effects and summary of usual types, which is possible to meet on the market. The third chapter contains functional description of chosen effects including designed schematics and simulations of functionality in time and frequency domain, eventually unrealized solution. The device contains input highpass filter with emitter follower, booster, overdrive and clean amplifier, circuit for octave-up frequency shift, delay line, output emitter follower with lowpass filter and power supply for all these circuits. Selection of the effects and its controls was subordinated especially to use in alternative rock music. The design is based on simulations executed using OrCAD PSpice. The realization process and the measurement is described in the fourth chapter and the last chapter contains conclusion of the project.
Big Muff Type Distortion Guitar Effects
Beránková, Tereza ; Balík, Miroslav (referee) ; Kubánek, David (advisor)
Presented thesis is focused on construction and functionality of distortion effects and equalizers. It investigates the possibility of their usage in guitar distortion effect called Big Muff which consist of several blocks. One of them is tone control and this thesis intention is to implement equalizer instead. Part of this thesis is also creation of a laboratory task focused on measuring and understanding to this guitar effect

Digital multi-effect unit for guitar
Juráň, J.
The aim of this work was to design the multi-effect unit containing many additional features with the smallest dimensions possible. The main problems solved during the design were: signal processor programming, C language library for graphical OLED RGB display, system control using ATmega, EMC, wireless transmission of the sound, proper maintenance selection for dimension minimization, battery charging, and audio preamplifier.
