BRODSKÝ, M. Discount promotions and their influence on consumer behaviour when purchasing food in the context of food waste. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2023. The diploma thesis deals with discount events and their influence on the be-havior of consumers when buying food in the context of food waste. The aim of the work is to identify factors influencing the buying behavior of consumers befo-re, during and after buying food. Furthermore, based on the results of the re-search, to propose possible recommendations for food sellers. Primary data are obtained from a questionnaire survey (n = 238) and in-depth interviews with household representatives (n = 11). As part of the work, basic statistical indica-tors are calculated and hypotheses are verified. According to the survey, 89.8 % of consumers use discount promotions during their purchases and as much as 57,8 % of consumers postpone their purchase due to an expected discount pro-motion.
Monitoring of the Czech population behavior in relation to grocery shopping

This work for a Bachelor's Degree deals with the the issue of influencing customers when shopping for food. There are many factors that affect a customer by food shopping. The theoretical section both systematically organizes and interprets factors which the customers encounter most often. The practical section of the work expands upon the themes introduced in the theoretical part which verify influencing factors within the Czech population. The partial goal is to assess the influence on buying unscheduled food. The aim of this work was also to find out whether the unintended food products can be considered healthy and to look at the attitude of the Czech population towards the disposal of food products. In the practical section research has been carried out by using a questionnaire. The result shows the Czech population buys food products excessively that they mistakenly think are healthy. According to the research the waste and disposal of food seem to be a frequent phenomen. Buying grocery on-line

The bachelor thesis with name "Buying Grocery On-line" is focused on issue to evaluate consumer attitude toward the on-line grocery shopping, character of demand and suggest the corrective actions for improvement. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts the theoretical and the practical one. In the theoretical part, professional literature deals with general determination of e-commerce and about consumers´ behaviour, which factors affect them and how looks consumer buyer decision process. The practical part evaluates consumer attitudes toward on-line grocery shopping using questionnaire survey. The questionnaire survey showed that almost half of the consumer spend on one purchase grocery in average 300-600 Czech crowns. More than half of the consumers buying grocery only occasionally, the rest of the consumers is buying grocery on-line regularly. Most of the consumers haven't any bad experience with purchase grocery on-line. Consumers choose price more as a disadvantage than as an advantage.

Different possibilities in purchasing of groceries – comparison of Czech and Austrian retail network

This bachelor thesis aims to compare different possibilities in purchasing groceries in the Czech Republic and Austria which is being compared in three areas being it large grocery stores, marketplaces and online grocers. In the first chapter the purchasing of groceries is set into the theory of trade and includes a clarification of the terms used in the thesis. Next chapter is divided into three parts according to the three different possibilities of purchasing groceries. First, the large grocery stores are being characterized by looking into the Czech and Austrian markets and its specifics. The next part deals with purchasing groceries on the marketplaces and describes in detail three Czech and three Austrian marketplaces. Last part of the second chapter is dedicated to the online grocers where three Czech and three Austrian e-shops are being described more in detail. The closing chapter analyses results from a questionnaire survey, contributing to the comparison of the different possibilities in purchasing groceries in the two countries.

This bachelor thesis deals with consumer protection and grocery section regulations. It's objective is to evaluate whether grocery stores stick to law while selling food and to analyze attitudes and behavior of consumers. The theoretical part deals with definition of consumer and other related concepts and with obligations of food sellers and consumer rights. The practical part consists of three parts that contain expert commentary, own research performed through grocery stores and survey taken among consumers.
Perception of healthy food by Czech consumer

Purpose of the thesis was to find out and describe associations that are linked to the category of healthy food by consumers. Above all the aim was to identify, what represents healthy food for them and what other thoughts and themes are associated with healthy food by consumers. In-depth ZMET interviews were conducted to determine these associations. The findings and other issues related to the topic such as broader context and specifics of healthy food marketing are presented. The information mentioned can be used for marketing mix planning of companies in food industry. The research found out that healthy food is not perceived as special food category, but approach to the food consumption. Approach that takes into consideration what is good for the person in terms of health. For respondents healthy food represented mainly homemade dishes consisting quality, fresh, natural ingredients. According the respondents healthy eating is a way of eating respecting sum of principles. Main principles are variety and balance in the consumers diet.
