Design and implementation of instruments for monitoring and evaluating physical activity of insects
KAKAŠ, Štefan
The aim of the diploma thesis is the development and subsequent construction of the device whose function is measuring and evaluating physical activity of insects. This instrument is unique in the Czech Republic and will be able to record physical activity of insects by using a video camera. Later that it will be able in this video shot back to reconstruct kinematic and statistical data about the movement of insects with software which is developed with Visual Basic .NET. On the base sufficient od obtained data it can be used to verify the premise of biologists about nervous systém, brain function and behavioral of Drosophila Melangostar which is more than a century used as model for genetics experiments. Finally, the conclusion compares the result of previously known and available software solutions in the world of biology, which are still used as a source for the results of performed experiments.
Prevalence of overweight and obesity among pupils II. grade elementary school.
VLKOVÁ, Alena
This work is focused on the prevalence of overweight and obesity of upper primary students on primary schools in Písek. In theoretical part I deal with the problem of adolescent overweight and obesity, the problem of genetic influences, lack of excercise and poor diet of the youth. The main part of the work is a research in which I made the anthropometric measurements on primary schools in Chyšky, Milevsko, Pisek, Kovářov and Čimelice. 156 probands of both genders participated in the research. Body Mass Index and circumference of waist according to the SZÚ were used to assess the results. Anthropometric measurements were made in November 2010.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE END OF THE MESOLITHIC IN CENTRAL EUROPE BASED ON FINDINGS OF ARTEFACTUAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ARCHAEOLOGY
PTÁKOVÁ, Michaela
The present work deals with the process of Neolithisation of central Europe with a focus on the territory of the Czech Republic, which is outlined on the basis of a literature review. A further emphasis is placed on the Mesolithic background for the Neolithisation process with respect to the impact of Mesolithic humans on the natural environment, particularly in terms of plant use in the European Mesolithic and its economic and social aspects.
General view of somatic and germinal interferences with human genome for the purpose of Homo Sapiens Sapiens improvement by means of the Christian ethics
HLINÁK, Jiří
Substantiality of the thesis is the question of moral and ethic in the sphere of developing genetic and inheritance research. Thesis is especially focused on ethics consequences which result from the application of this research. Thesis is divided in two parts. First part contains general information about genetics science and it is more likely descriptive. This part outlines fundamental principles of genetic, its evolution and genetics breakthroughs and their today exploitation. Thereinafter are mentioned genetics techniques divided in singles areas of interest with main focus on human genetic manipulation {--} main topic of the thesis. Close of this part is dedicated to the theoretical aspects of the ambition in the field of human changing and the description of achieved goals. There are mentioned controlling and regulating mechanisms as conclusions of the first part of the thesis. Opinion on regulation of clerical representatives, civil law, laic public and scientists themselves are referred-to. Second part of the thesis is focused directly on the ethics risks of the practical use of genetic technologies and their impact on human being. The principles of catholic ethic are foreshadowed. The expectations of human genetic improvement are confronted gradually by those principles. [90] Statement, that the human improvement by the genetic manipulation is non tenable by means of the Christian ethics is a conclusion of this thesis.
Informedness gravidity woman in connection with inspection of amniotic fluid.
NOVÁKOVÁ BOUŠOVÁ, Hana
The thesis should map the awareness of women in connection to the carried out investigation of amniotic fluid. On the basis of aims which should map the problems of amniotic fluid extraction four hypotheses were stated. They dealt with these questions: if pregnant women have information on amniotic fluid investigation, if pregnant women use the possibility to go for amniotic fluid investigation, if pregnant women are educated on the way of amniotic fluid investigation and if pregnant women know about the risks of the carried out amniocentesis. All hypotheses were proved and aims were fulfilled. It is possible to state two hypotheses on the basis of qualitative research. The first: pregnant women mention fear as a problem of amniocentesis. The second: pregnant women mention pain as a problem of amniocentesis. The combination of qualitative and quantitative research was used for the data collection. For the quantitative research the technique of a questionnaire was used. The questions were closed or semi-open, when informants crossed the answers or they could fill their own variation of an answer. There were 31 questions; first of these were identification questions and the other were related to the topic of the thesis itself. Expectant mothers who come to amniocentesis have enough information concerning amniotic fluid extraction but there were also some who did not have enough information. The lack of information in these mothers can be attributed to the lack of interest in amniotic fluid extraction, or inattention during education led by medical personnel. That is why the feedback during questioning is necessary. I propose the creation of leaflets and brochures which would contain everything connected to the problem of amniotic fluid extraction; the most frequent questions would be answered there. These leaflets or brochures should be available in all consulting rooms of gynaecologists and in genetic centres.
Genetic basement of coat colour of horses
BALCAROVÁ, Anna
The aim of my bachelor work was to develop a literary study of the genetic foundation of color in horses. I outlined the principles of heredity by Mendel laws. I described the characteristics of individual colors and genes that influence them. Genes that affect the color of horses are becoming more and are constantly new. So I devoted to genes that have been characterized and described. I have mentioned but a few of those that have not been clarified.
