The possibility of increasing physical activity among seniors - clients Hospitals Volyně
SMOLOVÁ, Michaela
The possibilities of increasing physical activity among seniors ? clients Hospitals Volyně is a name of the master thesis, which is in theoretical part focused on the issue of aging. Furthermore, it is focused on physical activities of elderly people and further describes recommendations of physical activities specified for this age group. Part of the theoretical segment is also description of the medical institution Hospital Volyně. In practical part hypothesis and aims of the thesis are stated. Part of the research is interventional physical program, which connects elements of Pilates and exercises by Niši. System of those exercises is applied on a group of seven women aged from 70 till 75 years. The monitored parameters are physical functions. The Senior fitness test was used for the measurements and the data was statistically processed using the Parallel t-test. Although there was no significant difference, the research had a great impact on the clients Hospitals Volyně.
The effect of fitness exercises on physical fitness level of seniors
Ondrášková, Valerie ; Demeková, Júlia (advisor) ; Kálal, Jan (referee)
Functional body condition of senior is important for preserving his independence, mobility and overall for his better quality of living. This paper tries to investigate influence of "classical" fitness exercise and exercise with DNS components on the functional body condition of examined senior. This paper is also comparing, whether is one of the exercises more efficient. For this fitness program have attended 32 probands older 60 years (control group 17, DNS group 15). After physical examination of their functional body condition by The Senior Fitness Test Battery, they have attended 6 weeks training program (2 times a week, 60 minutes), followed by the control test. In this paper we found out statistically significant improvement in body condition in both groups and from the result implies, that both types of exercises are effective to improve body condition of seniors. However, between these groups, we were not able to prove any significant difference. Then we examined on the smaller group of probands (7 in each group) influence of these exercises programmes on improvement of static postural stability, measured by Balance Error Scoring System. In this test we did not prove any statistically significant difference between the control group and the DNS group neither. The main finding of this paper...
Evaluation of the functional fitness of seniors using the method "Senior fitness test" with regard to the exercises in open and closed kinetic chains
Hrtús, Martin ; Táborská, Silvie (advisor) ; Chalupská, Tereza (referee)
The physical activity of seniors leads to keeping active life and positively influences mental and physical health. With the quality and quantity of physical activity is directly related to the functional physical fitness, which in the elderly should not be underestimated. For this work, we choose a standardized test battery "Senior Fitness Test", which we used to determine the functional fitness for the 20 seniors. Testing was performed at the beginning and after 6-week therapy. The therapy was conditional training in two groups. One group practiced in open kinetic chain and the second group in closed kinetic chains. We evaluated the obtained data and compared with each other. In the theoretical part we try to approach the issue of seniors out of their physical, mental and social aspects, as well as the issue of kinetic chains and introduce the "Senior Fitness Test."
