Local Histogram Analysis in Fingerprint Images
Glesner, Ladislav ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with local histograms. Using these histograms, the fingerprint quality at a given location is determined. Analysis of local histograms is done using my proposed algorithms. The resulting algorithms were tested on the fingerprint database and on the damaged fingerprint database. Using these tests, a database of local histograms with a fingerprint quality rating at a specific location is created. As an extension, an algorithm for determining the quality of the entire fingerprint image is implemented.
Analysis of Fingerprint Quality Assessment Systems
Dejmal, David ; Pernický, Radim (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
The aim of this work is to improve the process of determining fingerprint quality by Fingerprint Quality Visualizer (FQV). Mutual comparison of existing programs NIST Fingerprint Image Quality 2.0 and Neurotechnology VeriFinger has proved that FQV is worse in processing of extremely small fingerprints. Therefore, the procedure which estimates the number of minutiae in fingerprint based on its real size has been designed and implemented as an improvement. The final testing has proved that the implemented method works for the selected fingerprint collection. This approach can be an alternative to complex searching and accurate minutiae counting.
Analysis of Fingerprint Spoofs Created from Mold Done by Etching Technique
Tilgner, Jan ; Sakin, Martin (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
This work aims to analyse fingerprint spoofs from mold created by etching. Mold will be created using the technique used to create printed circuit board. After that spoof will be cast using liquid latex and then scanned. Created spoofs will then be compared to their original image. Algorithm to evaluate these spoofs is designed and implemented. The algorithm works by comparing pairs of minutiae from each fingerprint if they are similar. This alghoritm will be tested on database of fingerprint spoofs and the results will be compared to existing software results. Spoofs created by this technique had poor quality and minutiae did not match the original fingerprint.
Generation of Detergents Effects into Synthetic Fingerprint
Bartoš, Patrik ; Sakin, Martin (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes the design and implementation of an application that generates fingerprint damage into images of synthetic fingerprints. The resulting application can generate images of fingerprints affected by selected detergents – desinfection, abrasive soap and solid soap. Prior to the actual implementation of the application, the selected damage types were analyzed on a self-scanned database of fingerprints damaged by these detergents. The implemented algorithms were then used to create several datasets from a synthetic fingerprint database generated by the tool SFinGe. These datasets were then tested using the VeriFinger tool.
