Financial literacy in secondary education

The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the state of financial literacy at the Masaryk Business Academy in Rakovnik and make academic recommendations to improve financial literacy education at this school. This thesis consists of two parts. The first part explains the theoretical concepts of financial literacy and assesses the state of financial literacy in the Czech Republic. The second part is about Masaryk Business Academy in Rakovnik. There is general information about the school, teaching financial literacy and the level of comprehension with regard to financial literacy of students at this school. This part also contains suggestions to improve financial literacy at the Masaryk Business Academy in Rakovnik
Interactive applications in software Maple for teaching financial mathematics

The subject of this diploma thesis is to search for the possibilities of using the Maple program for teaching financial mathematics. The basis is to create the maplet, which allows to users to fully benefit from the the strength of CAS (computer algebra system) created by the division Maplesoft of the company Waterloo Inc., through a simple graphical user interface. Maplets provide all the necessary tools for the calculations, they are very illustrative and help students to better understand certain problem. Detailed evolution of the maplets from its development through possibilities to its creation is also important part of this diploma thesis.
The comparison of the level in financial literacy by students of different types of high schools

The main aim of this bachelor paper was to find how students these days are knowledgeable in banking products problems. The paper is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part defines financial literacy, refers to the organisations working on this field, compares education of financial literacy in the Czech Republic and in the world, introduces the banking products available in our country, and indicates the results of previous studies. The practical part is focused on a research held at secondary schools. The outcomes of the research show the level of financial literacy of students, mainly how good they are in understanding the banking products offered. The research included final year students of various types of secondary schools (grammar schools, special secondary schools).
Financial literacy for seniors

The aim of this thesis was to examine the financial knowledge of older people as a vulnerable group of the population of the Czech Republic. For the analysis of the survey were selected. Seniors were considered 9 questions investigating their financial literacy. A questionnaire survey was conducted in homes for the elderly and nursing homes in the Czech Budejovice. The survey was a total of 300 respondents.
Financial education for elementary school 2nd stage

This master's thesis maps the current state of Czech primary schools in the times when the standards defined in the document "Systém budování finanční gramotnosti na základních a středních školách" were implemented into RVP and subsequently into ŠVP as well. The theoretical part describes the issue of financial literacy and progress of the aforementioned implementation into RVP. The next chapter is focused on the first large survey of financial literacy PISA 2012 which was under the auspices of OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development). The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with analysis of learning materials which are available to help improve financial literacy. I used method of didactic test in my research and its methodology and analysis are described in another part of this thesis.
The Financial Literacy of Senior Citizens

This bachelor thesis focuses on the elderly and their financial literacy. This thesis is divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines actual knowledge about this theme and is divided into two chapters an introduction to issues about ageing and financial literacy. The author talks about seniors, demographic situation of ageing, forms of living, secured retirement in old age and financial literacy. The author also paid attention to presentations of products. The practical part includes the actual implementation of research and interpretation of the data is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the work and objectives of the research questions. The aim is to map the awareness of seniors in the effective management of their finances. The author also set partial research questions and the main research question is whether seniors are aware of their financial security. The second chapter researches methodology, which includes a qualitative research method of semi-structured interviews. The interviews are divided into three fields. The first is introductory information, the second field is financial literacy and the last field is presentations of products. The research methodology also characterizes the surveyed group, which consists of ten respondents over sixty five years old and lives in the Trebon region. In the third and the most extensive chapter there are the results and data. The elderly mostly answered in a different way however in some ways they agreed. The last chapter evaluates results and draws the author´s opinion. It has been found out that respondents have diverse interests and hobbies in retirement and they participate in them very actively. The income of the respondents is satisfactory to those who live in a household of two members. The financial situation has been described as good as well as average. Fifty percent of the respondents have experience with credit and only two of them create the budgets. The last set of questions was about demonstrations of goods and majority of the respondents have some experience with them. The last chapter is the conclusion which summarizes the information obtained. The main research question is whether seniors are aware of their financial security and the results show that all respondents have an over view of their finances. The elderly people orientate themselves well in money matters and they can optimally manage their money. They are vigilant in connection with credit and loans. They rather save money and they say that they do not buy anything when they do not have money. It is good that they are informed and can thus better resist the pitfalls that exist in this world, whether we like it or not. This thesis might be useful in practice for the elderly who want to try to draw up the budget. It can make a contribution to higher awareness about dangers of presentations of products.
Consumption credit

In literary research is to pursue attention laws related with consumption credit. The chapter personal and family finance deals with correct control finance. The final chapter in literary research describes consumption bankruptcy in detail. The aim of the diploma thesis is to evaluated consumption credit terms for the clients and possibilities of the clients as they could act in a case of problems with their defaults. Three banks and three nonbank institutions were choosen for the consumption credit terms evaluation. Next, the questionnaire was compiled for practical part of diploma thesis. After evaluation of questionnaire are presented statistics from varied sources. Next, the possibilities of the clients as they could act in a case of problems with their defaults. The diploma thesis is supplemented by solving dispute between debtor and credit provider. The last chapter diploma thesis deals with differences between offer consumption credit ČSOB from the Czech Republic and ČSOB from the Slovakia.
The situation in financial literacy in the EU

The aim of the diploma thesis is to explore the activities of the countries of the European Union in the district of financial literacy and to draw conclusions and eventually recommendations for the Czech Republic. At first, activities were detected in the district of financial literacy of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Austria and New Zealand and consequently were drew conclusions. Severally countries have developed many projects for improving financial literacy, but financial literacy isn´t still equally high in these countries, as it was showed by research PISA 2012. Next, questionaire relevant to financial institutions was applied to inhabitants of South Bohemia. The research was evaluated graphically and statistically. For statistical evaluation was used test assessment of independence Chi-quadrat for contingent table. The results of own research are very disturbing. Inhabitants of South Bohemia lack knowledge of important financial notions, they don´t know the difference between debit and credit cards and they don´t know, what is the APRC. One of the important results of the questionaire includes trust of the people to staff of the branches of banks or insurance companies. These people would contacted with most respondents in the case of dissatisfaction with the course of financial services. Contrariwise, people behave distrust to financial advisors, a few respondents use their services. The results of research correspond to the general level of financial literacy in the Czech Republic, which was discovered by general methods based on researches of Czech National Bank or PISA before now.
Consumer protection in the credit

This thesis is based on the bachelors thesis. It deals with current issues in the field of credit. This involves the history of this issue to the present and harmonization with EU law. It shows the situation after the amendment of the Act reporting obligations for loans provided to the penalties and sanctions. The theoretical part includes a barometer of credit to the 3rd quarter of 2013, and then figuring questionnaire consumer awareness and looking for possible recommendations and improvements to the current situation.
Insolvency citizens of the Czech Republic

The aim of my bachelor´s thesis is to map the situation of loan defaults by the Czech citizens. The theoretical part deals with the concept of insolvency. It is devoted to the description of the insolvency proceedings, the insolvency court characteristics and the characteristics of personal bankruptcy. Finally, the theoretical part is focused on the executors practise when loan aren´t repaid. The practical part aims the insolvency survey of the Czech citizens over 18 years old. Furthermore, the insolvency was compared according to sex, age, educational attainment and social status. Finally, it was investigated, how well are these respondents financially literate and if the lack of financial literacy affects the insolvency of surveyed ones.
