The Elements of Pop Culture in Holocaust Fiction

This bachelor thesis deals with a few Czech, Slovak and Polish authors of last decades, who use the elements of pop culture, e.g. romance, pornography, horror, thriller, detective story, fantasy. The books are namely Arnošt Lustig: Unloved (1979) and Colette. A Girl from Antverp (1992); Jáchym Topol: Sister (1994) and The Devil's Workshop (2009), Andrzej Bart: The Flytrap Factory (2008), Peter Krištúfek: Emma and the Death's Head Hawkmoth (2014) and Petr Eidler: The Naked Woman with the Star of David (2016). It focuses primarily on the analysis of thematic and stylistic procedures in those works and eventually also in their film adaptations with regard to intertextual use of previously mentioned elements of pop culture.
