The ecology of freshwater pearl mussel (Margaritifera margaritifera L.) and evaluation of its mortality on locations in the Czech Republic.
MÁSÍLKO, Jan
The aim of this thesis was to monitor mortality or more precisely population changes of freshwater pearl mussel (Margaritifera margaritifera L.), which settle in oligothropic stream. Brown trout (Salmo trutta morpha fario L.) is the only one fish host of larval stage of freshwater pearl mussel. The counting of the population was pursued at 2 localities: on the Blanice river and on the stream of Lužní potok in the Czech Republic. For general counting of population a net instrument and an optical instrument were used, that enabling to see them. Population of freshwater pear mussel is in decline in all Europe due to many factors like eutrophication, water pollution, etc. Results of work indicated a decline in population of freshwater pearl mussel at the first area about 15,38 % and at the second area about 15,22 % of the stream Lužní potok. There was not recorded a decline on the Blanice river, on the contrary, the number of population was higher. Among others, the habitation of juveniles was recorded at the first area.
Analysis of the Economic efficiency of the provision that should improve water quality in Macha´s Lake
Kuličková, Ivana ; Vojáček, Ondřej (advisor) ; Pur, Luděk (referee)
Diploma thesis is focused on data evaluation of economic efficiency of provisions for impoving of water quality in Macha's lake. Data estimation of economic value of chase in water quality in Macha's lake were acquired during on-site research in the area. Choice Experiment was used for modelling of recreational demand. The base of Choice Experiment is coming out from Lancaster's Attribution theory and Random utility function. Data presentation and its acquiring is a part of the diploma thesis, there is also discussed the new findings and the base of neoclassical methodology of Cost-Benefit Analysis that is suitable for judging of economic efficiency of provisions that help improving water quality in The Macha's lake. Macha's lake is a signifiant recreational area. While deciding about long term solution of the problem of water quality it is necessary to judge efficiency of invested ressources. Estimations of changes in water quality in Macha's lake is going to be used for Cost-Benefit Analysis. Cost-Benefit Analysis is based on measuring costs and benefits and their comparisons and this Analysis is main scope of the thesis.
Impact of land use on the former sand-pits in the region of Veselí nad Lužnicí
NOVÁK, Ondřej
Sand-pits which were formed especially in the floodplain of the Lužnice River since the 1950s currently constitute important landscape element of the Třeboň Basin. My diploma thesis is focused on the assessment of the impact of land use on the former sand-pits in the region of Veselí nad Lužnicí. Field investigations were carried out from the beginning of June till the end of August 2008. I mapped the land use of this area by using a map key. I put down particular areas {--} agricultural areas, forest areas, water areas, bild-up areas, other areas {--} into map photographs. The total area of the mapped territory was 989 hecteres. The biggest part of the area comprises of forest growths and field-grown plants. Water areas (with the main element of the mapped area {--} a system of former sandpits) formed 23% of the total area. On the bank sof the sand-pits were placed phytosociological relevé, which illustrated littoral vegetation and environment in which this vegetation is located, and what is the influence of human activity on vegetation. I placed 74 phytosociological relevé in this system. I recorded 125 plant species {--} out of these were 104 herb plants and 21 woody species. I recorded 41 nitrophilous, 52 wetland, 16 ruderal and 2 stronngly endangered species. Altogether, 20 water samplings were carried out. Horusice I sand-pit is the richest in nutrient, the poorest in nutrients is Horusice sand-pit.
Distribution and transport of phosphorus in small agricultural catchments of the South Bohemian Region
RICHTR, Jan
The thesis assess concentrations and spatial distribution of available phosphorus and its binding partners in agricultural soils in relation to critical concentrations of main P forms in runoff from these investigated catchments.
Factors influencing the abundance and ecology of bacterial group \kur{Limnohabitans sp}. in eutrophic environment.
PĚCHOTOVÁ, Kateřina
This work represents the grant application for project dealing with growth characteristics of a new freshwater bacterial group Limnohabitans in an eutrophic system and with its interactions with blue-green algae Microcystis.
The influence of increased nutrient input on rhizospheric effect in wet meadows´ soils
BURIANOVÁ, Jitka
This master thesis deals with increased nutrient input in two wet meadow ecosystems. The study sites were Záblatské louky with organic soil and Hamr with mineral soil are both located in nature protected area Třeboňsko. This study focuses on effect of eutrophication on direct counts of bacteria, as well as Ntot and Ctot concentrations in the rhizosphere and bulk soil. Changes of all measured paremeters were observed during the growing season 2006 -2007 in both sites. Fluctuation of Norg, N-NH4 and N-NO3 concentrations occurred as well.
Direct effect of eutrophication on microbial processes in wet meadows soils with accent on nitrogen cycle
MACH, Jiří
Increased nutrient input to wet meadows ecosystems often leads to eutrophication. This thesis observes direct effect of fertilization on microbial processes and transformations of nitrogen in three different types of soils. A laboratory experiment consisted in one-shot nutrient addition (fertilizer NPK). Changes in C, N, P microbial biomass, changes in transformations of nitrogen (nitrification, mineralization N, asimilation N, denitrification) and changes in mineralization C (soil respiration) were studied during 21 days.
Degradation of small protected areas on the example of the Vrbenská tůň
URBANOVÁ, Jana
The natural monument Vrbenská tůň is located in České Vrbné on the northwest edge of České Budějovice. It is the remainder of the winding original stream Dehtářský potok in the wide flat alluvium of the Vltava river. This bachelor thesis provides information about eutrophication, the current state of flora and proposes measures for the conservation of this natural monument. I made a survey of flora in this locality, during the growing season of the year 2007 and 2008. A list of recorded vascular plant species and an overview of the characteristics of existing vegetation units are also included. The results are compared with the results of botanical research made in 2006. The conclusions of this work confirm that rapid silt deposition causes unstable vegetation with prevailingly strong and competitive varieties of plants.
