Energetická politika EU - současnost a výhled
Pospíšilová, Zuzana ; Bič, Josef (advisor) ; Horák, Jiří (referee)
The first chapter is dealing with the question, what is the contemporary condition of the European governance of the energy sector and what are the causes of the current situation. A comparison with the USA and China can be found here, too. In the second part, there is a decription of the current and future role of the European Union concerning the energy sources, in particular concerning coal, natural gas, oil, nuclear energy, renewables and energy efficiency as well. The last chapter analyses the tendencies of the European Union energy politics and the outlook. The main topics are energy security, the environment and the internal market with electricity and natural gas.
Energetics in the EU: Present Trends
Procházková, Lenka ; Vošta, Milan (advisor) ; Kašpar, Václav (referee)
The first chapter of the diploma thesis describes Energy policy of the European Union, especially its development, present state and its goals. This chapter also contains information about development of the single energy market. The second part of the thesis analyses oil and natural gas import dependence of the whole European Union and its Member States as well. It shows its rate and also the structure of suppliers, moreover, it describes total production, consumption and reserves of these fosil fuels. The third chapter outlines the ways how to reduce the import dependence. The last part familiarises readers with the main initiatives of the European Union in the field of environmental protection.
Energy policy of the EU and CR in connection to Russia
Cimbálová, Pavlína ; Abrhám, Josef (advisor) ; Vitík, Matyáš (referee)
Present energy situation of the European Union is becoming to be more problematic. At the time when worldwide reserves of primary energy sources -- oil and natural gas -- continue to decrease, most of the EU member states are getting dependent on the imports of energy from foreign sources. One of the main impulses to discussion about new Energy policy of the EU in terms of security of energy supplies was a natural gas crisis between Russia and the Ukraine from January 2009. Russia represents one of the main energy partner of the EU -- it imports majority of oil and natural gas to the european countries. However, energy dependency rate of some of the central and eastern european states on imports of energy sources from Russia arouses concerns. The solution for the European Union proposes diversification of the suppliers aimed to increase energy independence on Russia. Also alternative energy sources or rebirth of nuclear energy can lead to the one-way dependence of the EU on imports of fossil fuels from Russia.
The Slovak republic and assurance of energy security
Auxtová, Ľubica ; Bič, Josef (advisor) ; Horák, Jiří (referee)
The issue of energy security is becoming increasingly discussed topic. Secure and continuous supplies of energy resources are in the interest of every country. This bachelor thesis concerns about energy situation of Slovak Republic as of the member of European Union. The first chapter describes current fuel-energy balance of Slovakia, state of national resources and strategic energy resources supplies and brings up the question of saving in still energetically highly demanding Slovak economy. The second chapter deals with European energy policy and it's context for Slovak politics and briefly describes important adopted documents. The thesis is terminated by the analysis of Slovak energy policy - a country with exclusive supplier of fosil fuels and indicates perspectives and reccomendations into the near future.
EU Energy Policy - Selected Problems of Electricity Market
Zezula, Michal ; Němcová, Ingeborg (advisor) ; Horák, Jiří (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with selected problems of the electricity market in the European Union. Existence of vertically integrated companies limits proper functioning of the single electricity market, therefore the EU supports liberalization process aiming to create competitiveness in electroenergetic area. This would enhance safety and reliability of distribution and consequently it would lead to higher efficiency in electrical production and consumption, lower prices for end-users and sustainable development with respect to environment. One of the main instruments in the liberalization process is proprietary separation of electricity production and distribution, i.e. unbundling. This thesis explains the current performance of the electricity market and evaluates changes that could be reached by liberalization process.
Development of EU's energy dependence
Glockner, Martin ; Vondrušková, Barbora (advisor) ; Bič, Josef (referee)
There is a huge disproportion, in the world we know today, in terms of geographical distribution between the mining sites and the location of final consumption of energy resources. The aim of this thesis is to analyze this imbalance, to quantify the dependence of the EU region and to analyze European energy policy, its conception, evolution and transformation.
Safety and sustainable European´s Union energy policy
Kaša, Daniel ; Vondrušková, Barbora (advisor) ; Bič, Josef (referee)
The bachelor's thesis focuses on the analysis of energy safety and it's sustainibily in the territoty of EU. The aim of the thesis is to point out whether the current energy policy is sustainable and which trend in this sector can be contemplated. Contributory to this aim is the analysis of the development of the EU energy policy from it's rudiment and the most important determinants.
EU energy policy and its goals
Holoubek, Lukáš ; Ševčíková, Michaela (advisor) ; Ryvolová, Ivana (referee)
The aim of my BA thesis is to answer the question why the European Union is trying to have a common energy policy. I will start with the historical events which influenced the process of the economic integration of Europe. Among the milestones of this integration are the foundation of ECSC, the creation of Euratom, the oil shocks in the seventies, the publication of the White Book concerning the EU energy policy and of the Green Book of the European Committee and the Lisbon Treaty (if ratified). I will focus on the events which are leading Europe to solving the energy issue. I will also tackle the question whether by means of the common foreign policy Europe will gain energy independence of unreliable sources and safety. As a method I will use an analysis of the goals of the energy policies - why did the European Union set these goals and what will reaching these goals bring to the EU states. In the concluding part I will compare the goals of the EU energy policy with the Czech energy policy.
EU energy policy: development and prospects
Jelistratova, Jevgenija ; Vošta, Milan (advisor) ; Kašpar, Václav (referee)
Práce se zabývá vývojem energetické politiky EU. Obsahem práce je popis jednotlivých energetických zdrojů, dále popis energetických společenství 50. let (ESUO, EURATOM) ve vývoji. Velká část práce je věnována současnému stavu energetické politiky EU a možnostem budoucího vývoje, včetně potenciálních dodavatelů energie.
EU energy politics- current situation and an outlook for the future
Halm, Lukáš ; Bič, Josef (advisor) ; Krč, Jakub (referee)
I am trying to express my own concept of the solution to the European energy dependance, which has been constantly growing for several years. While analyzing the main resources of energy available at the time, I've come to a conclusion that nuclear energy and renewable resources tend to be the most proper sources of energy in order to stop or even decrease the energy dependance rate of the EU. After analyzing the economic use and possible capacities of the proposed resources, it has occured to me that even their further implementation would lead to a decline in above mentioned energy dependance rate of EU. At the same time, it would consequently reduce the prices of the energy in the European Union, not mentioning the ecological profits of such resources.
