Lajtkepová, Eva ; Mikulec, Luděk (advisor)
Even though the legal minimum wage is not a new thing (it was first set in 1912 in the state of Massachusetts in the USA), we first come across the stipulation of a minimum wage in an amendment to Act No. 65/1965 Coll. of the Labour Code from 1990. The specific level of minimum wage and the conditions for applying it were then set by government resolution in February 1991. Since then the level of minimum wage has been valorised many times (in January 2006 the valorisation of minimum wage was the thirteenth time the minimum wage had been changed). The submitted dissertation deals with selected impacts of the minimum wage on firms, with special consideration to small and medium-sized enterprises (up to 250 employees). Attention is focused both on the demand side of the labour market (acceptance of legal level of minimum wage by firms), as well as on the supply side (effect of the legal level of minimum wage on willingness and motivation of the unemployed to supply their labour on the labour market). The work is focused on the following fundamental areas: detailed mapping of the effect of the minimum wage on firms and employment in economic theory and in contrast to theories for the results of empirical research, identification of the position of minimum wage in wage distribution in the Czech Republic (secondary research), acceptance of minimum wage by small and medium-sized firms in Southern Moravia County (primary research) and willingness of the unemployed to work for the minimum wage (primary research). An integral part of the work is the setting up of aids for the needs of a firm for enrolment and taking on of new employees - decision trees that provide information to the firm on the external labour market.

The value system of men and women in the current family
KOUBKOVÁ, Bohumila
The objective of thesis was to identify the most important values of men and women in the current family and role division in these families. The theoretical section defines the topic through professional literature. I present here the differences between men and women from the biological, psychological and sociological perspective. Then, I focused on the family and the present, values and value orientation. Finally, I worked out the roles of men and women. To find out the opinions and attitudes related to the thesis objective and hypothesis, I used quantitative research. Data collection was carried out using the method of interviewing and the technique of questionnaire. The questionnaire survey was conducted in January and February of 2011 and it was preceded by a pilot study. In total, 210 pieces of questionnaires were distributed. 176 properly completed questionnaires, which were usable for the research, were returned. The research sample consisted of married men and married women from the South Bohemian Region. The sample of respondents was selected randomly. The condition was that both the men and the women had children. The bachelor thesis established two hypotheses. In connection with the results of the research, it needs to be emphasized that the value system of men and women in the current family is almost the same, but in terms of the order of life values. The most important value for men and women in the current family is health. The value of the family took the second place. Of course, it is obvious that for a woman, in terms of all aspects, the value of family represents a somewhat higher value than for men as compared to employment. In connection with the division of roles in the current family it can be said that men are more inclined to the traditional division of roles. It is necessary to mention the fact that women disagree with this division. The results of thesis show the most important values and division of roles of men and women in the current family. The gained knowledge can be used as a source of information for other research studies dealing with this issue. It could also be used as education material for instruction that is associated with this issue.

Work rehabilitation and its security provided by labour offices in the Ústecký region
JEŽKOVÁ, Jana
Working rehabilitation is the topic of my diploma thesis. Finding out the ways of securing working rehabilitation by the employment offices in the region of Ústí nad Labem on the basis of secondary sources and qualitative talks is the aim of this diploma thesis. So far in the Czech Republic hasn´t been the system providing comprehensive solution of the health handicapped employment. The Act Employment n.435/2004, Code introduces the institute of working rehabilitation in order to provide the access and comeback to the labour market for the health handicapped. Supporting the policy which enable to employ these handicapped people is the the next objective of this institute. The employment offices as the state administration bodies provide the employment facilities in a given region, they are independent subjects, territorially organized in districts and their legislative duties contain working rehabilitation securing. Research respondents were the particular employment offices in the region of Ústí nad Labem personnel who are interested in working rehabilitation and really practise it. The region of ústí nad Labem belongs to the Czech Republic area maintaining the primacy in the field of the unemployment. The unemployment as a result of labour market functioning is one of the contemporary world problems. Labour market is very dynamic phenomenon which reacts to technological development and economic situation. Nowadayas with the essential decrease in working positions there is a decrease in free working positions reserved for the handicapped and thus the participation of the handiccaped in the total number of job applicants has been steadily increased. The integration of these handiccaped to the labour market is affected by lots of factors among others by insuficcient awareness of their needs and weak points of the contemporary functioning from the legistation and practise view point. Creating procedures which enable to make provision for needs and skills of working rehabilitation participants and thereby increasing their participation at labour market was the intention of this diploma thesis. The targets were fulfilled so there were suggested three variants which show various possibilities of the initiation of working rehabilitation process and enable the effective usage of their particular forms. The diploma thesis results can be used either by the employment offices personnel throughout the Czech Republic or by the specialized experts who are interested in the problem of working rehabilitation.
