This dissertation thesis deals with the analysis of the possibilities of development of residential areas within the framework of spatial planning. The main objective was to establish an index that would show the level of potential of areas for residential development based on the conditions set by the zoning plans. For this purpose, a methodology was developed that involves the collection and analysis of data from graphical information systems of urban planning. The research question was investigated using case studies of the cities of Brno, Olomouc and Jihlava, where residential design areas and their limits were identified. The results showed that residential development can be influenced by various factors such as the character of the area, environmental constraints, technical infrastructure and other regulatory factors. Using the established Index of Residential Development (IoRD), an assessment of the level of potential for development in each city was achieved. This dissertation brings a new perspective to the assessment of residential development potential in urban areas and also provides a methodology for determining the IoRD based on zoning conditions.
Transformation of Prague brownfields: Waltrovka case study
Vácha, Jan ; Nemeškal, Jiří (advisor) ; Pospíšilová, Lucie (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of brownfields, their definition, classification and comparison with competing greenfields. The first objective of this thesis is locating brownfields in Prague and their subsequent statistical analysis. The second goal of the thesis is to analyse the processes of change that have taken place on the site of the former Walter aircraft engine factory in Jinonice, where a brownfield has been revitalised into completely new residential- commercial district, which has a great impact not only on its residents but also on the wider area of Jinonice. In the context of the revitalisation, the thesis also deals with the sociogeographical analysis of Waltrovka and an interesting part is the chapter about genius loci that is a very prominent part of this modern neighbourhood. Key words: brownfield, revitalization, Prague, Waltrovka, genius loci, ecological burden
Spectrometric determination of selected metals in the samples from old ecological burden area
Zurynková, Pavla ; Kratzer, Jan (advisor) ; Spěváčková, Věra (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on heavy metals pollution in the Králíky town and its vicinity, located in the Pardubice region. This region was selected because there had been a Tesla factory producing fluorescent lamps. Moreover, there is also a waste disposal of the fluorescent lamps wasters and other dangerous waste located about two kilometers far from the former factory. Soil samples from the waste disposal area as well as river sediment, samples taken in the Tichá Orlice river and the Králický brook have been analyzed Mercury, cadmium, lead, chromium, nickel, copper and arsenic levels in the samples were measured by inductively coupled plasma - mass spectrometry. The total mercury content has also been measured with single-purpose atomic absorption spectrometer AMA-254. An optimization of leaching conditions of the elements was performed prior the analysis of the samples employing certified reference material. High levels of mercury, cadmium, lead, chromium, nickel and copper have been found in the waste disposal area. Regarding the sediment samples the highest levels of pollution have been detected near outfall of the sewage water from the industrial area in the Králíky town (former Tesla factory and recent metal plating industry). The concentration of heavy metals in other sediment...

Vyhodnocení staré ekologické zátěže z hornické činnosti v Kutné Hoře a okolí
Hladíková, Kateřina
Thema of Bachelor thesis is called „"Evaluation of the state of old ecological burdens originating from mining activities in Kutná Hora and its surroundings" is focused on existing contamination of soils with heavy metals, especially arsenic in Kutná Hora. The greatest burden is being explored in the city district of Kaňk. Contamination comes from the time of the greatest development of silver mining in Kutná Hora and its sur-roundings. The origins date back to the 13th century, and over the years the material deposited in the dumps from the mines due to the influence of the environment and human activity causes an environmental burden that may have a potential impact on hu-man health. Numerous studies and analyses have been carried out at the site to confirm the contamination of the environment with heavy metals and to propose a set of measures. There has been a great deal of geological work, but the literature on the health risk of contamination is not so abundant.
Brownfieldy a možnosti jejich využití - případová studie mikroregionu Valašskomeziříčsko-Kelečsko
Paloušová, Daniela
This diploma thesis is focused on issues of old and unused objects or areas, called brownfields. The main goal was to characterize brownfields, their distribution and related concepts and problems. With the field survey method were identified four brownfields in the selected microregion and was detected their current status and current or future use. Another used method was a questionnaire. All of the results showed that the problem of brownfields is becoming more and more actual and that there are a lot of these areas in the micro-region but only a few of them were recultivated.
