Development of masonry systems with utilization in flood areas
Fabiánková, Aneta ; Sedlmajer, Martin (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
Thesis describes the system of masonry structures in floodareas. It is based on liteature review of floods, mapping mansonry load during floods, dyinig after the passage of the flood wave solutions and water impermeability construction to prevent degradation and destruction. The main part is the design of the wall, which connectes hydrophobic individual elements of construction to provide resistence during floods. The diploma thesis includes practical verification of the functionality of a complete proposal to ensure the smallest possible water absorption caúitaly of the structure.

Vojtechovská, Daniela ; Pourová, Jana (advisor) ; Mladěnka, Přemysl (referee)
Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology Student: Daniela Vojtechovská Supervisor: doc. PharmDr. Jana Pourová Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: Natural drugs in the treatment of dry cough. Cough is a natural protective reflex of the airways. It is one of the universal symptoms and one of the major reasons to see a general practitioner. The main causes of cough include inflammatory diseases of upper and lower airways of viral or bacterial origin. However, cough can arise as a consequence of more serious diseases. Antitussives used in conventional therapy of cough are reliable, but they have many restrictions and adverse effects. Phytotherapy, including the therapy of dry cough, is a current trend. Unlike conventional antitussives, using natural drugs in therapy has several advantages, such as treating the main cause of cough, better safety, fewer adverse effects (natural drugs lack central adverse effects). In addition, natural drugs do not induce drug dependence, have fewer drug interactions, the duration of their use is not so limited, and they are easily available. The aim of this Thesis was to summarize available information on the use of natural drugs in the therapy of dry cough, and to supply reliable pharmacological data which would support...
Jesus Heals on Sabath Day: Mark 3:1-6
Kadlec, Tomáš ; Brož, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Scarano, Angelo (referee)
There are several references to the passion of Jesus Christ in the Gospels even before the Crucifixion narrative. The diploma thesis discusses the first reference to Jesus' suffering in the Marcan version (Mark 3:1-6). It narrates the healing of a man with withered hand, which Jesus performed in the synagogue on the day of Sabbath before the eyes of Pharisees and Herodians. This is the last one in series of five Galilean conflicts. The importance of the passage is among others in its context with the crucifixion. The thesis starts with examination of the text from a perspective of textual criticism, context, and synoptic comparison. It also discusses the themes of the passage from the perspective of biblical symbolism: synagogue, Sabbath, hand, dry/withered, healing, Pharisees, and Herodians. The last chapter focuses on the revelation of Jesus' power, which approves him as the Lord of the Sabbath here and at the same time functions as a reference to his future crucifixion and resurrection.
