Contribution of accompanying organizations to working with foster families

This bachelor thesis deals with the benefits of fostering support for foster families. The aim was to describe the benefits and drawbacks of fostering support from the temporary foster parents' perspective. The theoretical part describes the particular forms of foster family care. Foster care is depicted in more detail. We focus on its legal framework, the mediation process as well as the issues of fostering support. We mention specific behaviors of children in foster family care, such as attachment disorders. The survey was conducted using a method of structured interviews with open-ended questions. The research group consisted of six temporary foster mothers living in Prague. The research questions were answered. Interviewed foster mothers see most often the benefits of accompanying in the human support they receive from the key social workers. They also mentioned the essential role of support from family and friends. There are some drawbacks in the fostering support in a few sporadic cases, such as unsatisfactory educational topics or the absence of assistance from the organization. Foster parents are oftend burdened by inadequate financial support from the state or the work of courts and authorities.
