Comprehensive urban analysis focusing on transport issues of selected public space in Litomyšl

The bachelor´s thesis focuses on the urbanistic analysis, public space and transport issues in Litomyšl’s town centre. It introduces the transport problems of Smetana´s square with regard to an improvement of public space quality. The first part describes current situation and the square´s development. The second part focuses on the space analysis and their current problems and limits due to which the public space loses its quality and future development is no more possible. The third part describes possible variants, which minimize the problems and limits or even eliminate them. At the end of the work is the best solution for revitalization suggested in order to develop public space with preserving the urban concept of the town centre.

The main goal of the thesis is characterizing the transportation in global economics. Moreover the thesis analyses all types of transportation on European continent. It describes the infrastructure and utilization of cargo and personal transportation in all types of transport. The thesis itself focuses on the European countries, especially members of the European Union. In the end it describes plans and goals of common transportation policy of EU, ways of its funding, TEN-T and Galileo programmes.
