Confronting of transport-geographic and socio-geographic regionalizations of Slovakia on example of Bratislava mezo-region

ABSRACT The Bachelor thesis devotes to confrontation created transport-geographic and socio- geographic regionalization of Bratislava mezo-region with existing administrative and socio- geographic regionalization of Slovakia. The introductory chapter describes different regionalization approaches, and balances different regionalizations of Slovakia, in which base defines the research questions for the Bratislava mezo-region transport-geographic regionalization analysis. In the next part of the thesis author's transport-geographical regionalization methodology based on transport gradient and public transport operation analysis and partially resembling to socio-geographical regionalization approaches is described. The methodology is then applied into the definition of transport-micro-region in the Bratislava hinterland. The defined transport-micro-region is confronted with the existing socio-geographic regionalization of Slovakia and currently existing administrative hierarchy. The final chapter presents the main transport operations influencing factors including a discussion of the individual factors impact determining discrepancy between each regionalization.
