The Use Of Songs As A Didactic Tool In History Lessons

The use of music in the teaching of history brings new possibilities of working with a significant group of musical historical sources as well as modern song interpretations of historical events. This diploma thesis describes the using of songs as a didactic tool and summarizes appropriate ways and methods. Methodologically, the work is based on research using comparison, linguistic analysis and statistics. The thesis aims to summarize the possibilities of using songs in the teaching of history; how to choose appropriate songs and outline examples of what lessons look like using music. Other goals are to outline the possibilities of higher teaching efficiency using modern approaches and to open Czech history teaching to new methods and the overall use of music in history teaching, which are already used abroad. The result of the thesis is the finding that songs clearly contribute to the effectiveness of the teacher's efforts by making them more fun for the students. The fun of the lesson is connected, among other things, to the effectiveness of the teaching, and the teacher's goal is to make the teaching as effective as possible. The use of regional history in history classes with examples from Kladno region

The diploma thesis titled "The use of regional history in history classes with examples from Kladno region" deals with the topic of regional history, the history of the Kladno region and questionnaire about teaching regional history at schools in the Kladno region. It also offers a thought how this topic can be included in the history classes. One of the primary objectives of this thesis was to explain the importance of regional history and its inclusion in education. Relevant specialized literature was thoroughly analyzed for this purpose. The inclusion of this topic is especially important in order for the pupils to better understand various historical phenomena through an environment which is familiar to them. Another important objective was to find out whether regional history is being taught at all at schools in the Kladno region, what forms are used for this purpose, and which topics are included. In order to find the answers a questionnaire was sent to the teachers and pupils in the Kladno region. The results suggest that the majority of teachers attempt to include regional history in their history classes, even when faced with unfavorable time allotment. Czechoslovakia in years 1968 - 1989. Didactic analysis of "normalisation" and its possible pedagogical use.

This thesis is dealing with the education of contemporary history on the second level of elementary schools and grammar schools, concretely with the period 1968-1989 in Czechoslovakia, so called "normalisation" and works with options of application in the educational proces. The study of contemporary czechoslovakian history is sbdued to analysis: historic, didactic and methodical with the explicit theoretical research the proposition of didaktic approach arises, which forms 10 teaching lessons for elementary schools and 12 for grammar schools with the difference of 2 levels of lessons - standarized and the so called seminars with emphasis on the activity of the pupils, working with resources, development of critical historical thinking and the perception of the causes and results of historical evolution. The Use of Regional History of Vltavotynsko in History Lessons. Workbook with Regional Historical Topics

The diploma thesis The Use of Regional History of Vltavotynsko in History Lessons. Workbook with Regional Historical Topics is a contribution to the methodology of history lessons. It defends the importance of regional and environmental education as well as education for relationship to cultural-historical heritage in lessons of history, especially at upper primary schools. The mentioned aspects of history education are observed in particular chosen educational documents, which determined the form of education in the 1990s and then also the final product of this reform - the Framework Educational Programmefor primary education. The main output of the thesis is a textbook about the regional history of Vltavotynsko called People from the River, which reflects the learned knowledge. The textbook does not only contain exercises typical for a workbook, but it also includes other texts and visual materials which present the basic historical development in the micro-region to pupils in an attractive way and they are a valuable contribution to pupil's environmental education, too.
