The perspective of the classroom climate regarding a child suffeing from a chronic illness

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of a pupil with chronic disease and his/her impact on the class environment. In the theoretical part, the characteristics of selected chronic diseases are processed, as well as basic information about the disease in connection with the psyche. It is followed by school legislation concerning pupils with special educational needs, the topic of the school class as a social group and basic information regarding the environment of the class. In the practical part, interviews with chronically ill pupils and their class teachers are processed as well as the questionnaires which were filled out by classmates of the pupil with the disease. The research survey focuses mainly on the feelings of the pupil with chronic illness in the school environment, the attitude of the teacher towards the ill pupil and its impact on mutual relations in the classroom. Pupils with chronic diseases who participated in our research survey have no problem with integration into the classroom.
Methods of processing and coping with stress situation of people with diseases diabetes mellitus I. type

This bachelor thesis tries to describe coping strategies in stressful situations in individuals with diabetes mellitus I. type (DM1), who became ill during adolescence. The theoretical part is focused on current knowledge about diabetes mellitus I. type, generally about coping, last but not least, the chapter seeks to describe coping strategies in individuals with DM1. Through qualitative research, the practical part tries to capture resources of stress and coping strategies in individuals with DM1 in adolescence and adulthood. The research group includes five individuals suffering from the disease DM1. Results of the research showed that these individuals perceive stress completely differently and choose different coping strategies in coping with stress. Adolescents tend to choose maladaptive coping strategies. On the other hand, adults choose more adaptive strategies. Stress in these individuals affects their course of treatment.
Diabetes mellitus type I. and physical activity

The bachelor's thesis deals with diabetes mellitus type 1 and the opportunity of compensation by adequate physical activity, focusing on middle age and older patients, having suffered from diabetes for a long period of time. The thesis focuses on the different attributes of the burden, affecting the daily life of patients with diabetes. For better understanding and clarity of the issue, the work is divided into several chapters and sections dealing separately with the influence of physical activity and potential profits from regular, properly indicated motion for compensated patients. The thesis also describes involution changes occurring in the aging organism, which are always necessary to be taken into consideration when selecting a physical activity. The work is supplemented with pictures and graphs in the annex that enable a better show, and outline the issues. In my work, I not only try to show the positive influence of a wellchosen physical activity in patients with diabetes, but also highlight the potential risks and hazards coming from an improperly chosen therapy. Fear of hypoglycemia in adults with diabetes I. type in nursing process

This bachelor thesis discusses the fear of hypoglycemia at patients who have diagnosed diabetes mellitus of first type. This thesis is divided into two parts. There is a theoretical part, which deals with problematic of diabetes mellitus, with its characteristic, symptoms, diagnostic, treatment and complications. Next theme of this theoretical part is deals with fear, anxiety, depression and emotional structure or attachments. Empirical part of this bachelor thesis is dedicated to fear of low level sugar in blood in relation to depression, anxiety, emotional attachments and other demographic and clinic factors. The conclusion of the practical part describes the sample of respondents and determines the results of the research. The research for this thesis was based on six questionnaires, which respondents received in this order - a non-standardized anamnesis questionnaire, research of low level of sugar in blood at adults (HFS - II), Beck's self-judged scale of anxiety (BAI), Beck's Depression Scale (BDI- II), Experiences in close relationships (ECR) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder - 7 (GAD - 7). Needs of students with type 1 of diabetes selected in primary school

Type 1 diabetes mellitus is chronic disease and the diploma thesis deals with the needs of students with this type of diabetes in selected primary schools. In the theoretical part I deal with the diet of these students, the education of children and their families, the problems arising from this disease and last but not least, the treatment and types of treatment for type I diabetes. I also mentioned the possible mental problems that can occur in children. In the practical part I found out the specific needs of students suffering from this disease. In my diploma thesis I set one main goal and that was to find out the needs of students. The data were provided with an unstructured interwiew with students from selected primary school. I addressed exactly 12 respondents with whom I interviewed. All interviews were without a single comlication and problem. I first met all the respondents to create friendly atmosphere for the upcoming convercation. During the interviews a large amount of data was indentified for processing. Thanks to the interviewe I came to the conclusion that students in primary school suffering from type I diabetes have certain needs. This bachelor thesis deals with changes that occur when diabetes mellitus type 1 is found out in children (younger and older) in their school age. What impact of disease is on child himself, his parents or relatives and if his situation at school is affected as well. In the theoretical part I mention basic information about this metabolic disease and I try to describe some of the problems which are connected with this chronic illness. How the life of family changes especially the patient´s one itself. What difficulties and complications are possible and what measures are suitable for school and after-school care of such a child. The aim of this thesis is to describe mentioned themes using case interpretations. Interviews and questionnaire surveys with patients or their relatives will be carried out as a metodology. I find expert analysis of paediatric diabetologists to be very important. Finally the goal of this thesis is attempt to look up possible generalizations of this disease from different points of view - individual perception and experience of particular respondents.
Diabetes mellistus in preschool environment

This bachelor's thesis is concerned with a chronic disease Diabetes mellitus type I. in children of pre-school age. It maps the necessities of pre-school children with this diagnosis and it investigates the readiness of the teachers to include a diabetes child into the environment of a kindergarten. My thesis is devided into two parts, practical and theoretical. The theoretical part is dedicated to the definition of Diabetes type I., also to the description of the specifics that this disease brings into the child's life and the related regime measures that are important for the compensation of diabetes. In the practical part I investigate through a survey, which expectations parents had before placing their child into the kindergarten and how were those fullfiled. Furthermore in this part I intended to find out, through interviews, what information about diabetes do teacher have, whether they know the regime measures of diabetic children and what are their abilities in terms of providing the diabetes children needs.

Specific needs of children with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus in secondary education

This bachelor thesis deals with inclusion of children with diagnosis of Type I. Diabetes Mellitus in secondary schools. The theoretical part is devoted to issues of integration and inclusion as well as differences in inclusive and integrated education. It defines a pupil with specific educational needs and a pupil with a Type I. Diabetes Mellitus. This is also explored in terms of legislation.The practical part explores how educators are informed about illnesses, constraints or disabilities of their pupils with an emphasis on Type I. Diabetes Mellitus and examines whether they are able to adequately respond to the specific needs of these children. This section also focuses on the area of pupils and their needs and expectations with regard to their illnesses in relation to school practice.The final part deals with a short guidebook on Type I. Diabetes Mellitus, which is intended primarily for educators and educational staff who come into contact with these children.
