The chair is designed for people who need their own peaceful space to hide and relax. The chair is put together with pentagonal shapes which ergonomically houses the human body. The geometrical structure allows the user to feel protected and cosy, almost immune to the outside world. The chair is made of oak wood and it fits for busy hotels, airports, offices and libraries.

Biopolyméry v čalúnenom nábytku - design sedacieho prvku

The main topic of this diploma thesis is to survey possibilities of applications of biopolymers in upholstery furniture. Also it takes aim to apply chosen bioplastic in design of seating element. First part of this thesis mentions requests on soft seating and contemporary materials, as well as background for eco-friendly design. Theoretical part consist of material research mapping current market of biopolymers possibly used in upholstery furniture production and interior architecture. This knowledge serves as a base for own design of soft seating element respecting safety and ergonomic request and accessible technologies.

The aim of the thesis is to design a coat rack tailored to dimensions of a specific room in the TRIM s.r.o. hotel. The subject of theoretical and practical section is to elaborate on a wide range of issues associated to this topic, including safety and normative regulations, ergonomics, typology of storage space and analysis of the target market. The practical section deals with the realization of the prototype according to the client's requirements and the design of the product itself, accompanied by relevant technical documentation.

This bachelor thesis shall demonstrate a design of a table, that would fit into the interior of a particular café. The theoretical part consists of chapters related to this subject, including history of table furniture, the table furniture market condition, its typology and safety and normative regulations, whereas the output of the practical part is the construction of a prototype itself. The prototype should be constructed according to the attached technical documentation displaying final artistic design with a possible construction solution.

Environmental psychology is a significant field of applied psychology, which can provide useful information for designers and their work. The focus is mainly on means of perception of design components and features, such as shapes and colours, and its processing and interpretation. The thesis primarily describes theoretical studies, which can later serve as a philosophical principle for designer's creative proces, leading to creation of not only fully functional, but also psychologically pleasant design.
