Production of castings from Cu-Ni based alloys
Kelbl, Michal ; Kaňa, Václav (referee) ; Záděra, Antonín (advisor)
This master thesis is focused on melting of Cu-Ni based alloys and production of castings from these alloys. The theoretical part includes introduction of Cu-Ni based alloys and their properties and application. At the end of this part is production foundry technology of Cu-Ni alloys described. In the practical part two proposed melt controls for cupronickel (Cu-Ni) and for monel (Ni-Cu) have been performed. From these melts trial castings, castings of blades and bearings have been produced. The trial casting and the casting of bearing have been produced by using sand moulds and the casting of blade by using ceramic shell. According to internall quality of produced castings the performed melt controls have been evaluated. In addition to the internal quality of the castings, the chemical composition, microstructure and mechanical properties were evaluated.
Properties of low-alloyed steels at decreased temperatures
Doležal, Petr ; Pálka, Stanislav (referee) ; Záděra, Antonín (advisor)
The goal of the thesis was research in the field of structure and properties of low alloyed steels used in low temperature environment. Work was focused on heat treatment and chemical composition of the steel and their impact to hardness and impact energy values. Chemical composition and heat treatment of steel was proposed on the basis of achieved results.
Optimization of heavy steel castings manufacture
Jankůj, Josef ; Martínek, Ludvík (referee) ; Šenberger, Jaroslav (advisor)
The work deals with the occurrence of cracks and fissures in the massive steel castings produced in the ŽĎAS a.s. foundry which create in castings through the elimination of the extension. The influence on the final deoxidation on the creation of fissures and cracks is researched at the experimental samples. The beginning of the work is about teoretical analysis of these defects. Next it is described the place of the collection of these samples their chemical composition and cracks identification. After that it is evaluated the appearance of various defects in connection with modificatory and deoxidation additive, observation of experimental material with the microscope and the results of mechanical tests. The conclusion of the work belongs to sum up the individual results and proposal of optimal procedure.
Optimization of heavy steel castings manufacture
Procházka, Zdeněk ; Čech, Jan (referee) ; Šenberger, Jaroslav (advisor)
The Master’s thesis was conducted under the project FR-TI1/070 “Optimalization of heavy steel casting manufacture” in cooperation with ŽĎAS a. s. foundry. It evaluates rate of conchoidal fracture in samples extracted from experimental castings. The testing bar for the static tensile test were extracted from thermal axis of casting. The research part describes ways of deoxidating the liquid metal and usage of separate deoxidating chemical parts, followed by summary of research knowledge on conchoidal fractures. In the practical part, the process of sample evaluation is described. The conchoidal fracture, the surface of which was evaluated on the fracture surfaces, influences mechanical qualities of cast steel. Simultaneously, impacts of metallurgical factors on rate of conchoidal fracture were examined
