The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the basic concepts related to the family, its functions and other important socialization factors that influence children's behaviour. The theoretical part includes concepts related to childs relationships, significant emotional attachments. The bachelor thesis includes an explanation of the concepts of anormative behaviour. Last but not least, possible causes and prevention of socially anormative behaviour are presented in the thesis. Based on the objective, the study and the literature, research questions were identified and enriched with additional questions. The research population consisted of 8 female workers from two unnamed children's homes in the Highlands. The semi-structured interview included 10 questions that helped me to clarify the aims and research questions of the undergraduate thesis. The research investigation revealed that the most common manifestations of socially anormative behaviour were lying, aggressive behaviour, and uncontrollable crying. In most cases it was stated there is a need for more cooperation with professionals, improved cooperation with the family, and informing the public about the consequences of social anormative behaviour. The communication partners tried to suggest possible solutions to socially anormative behaviour and also most often answered that it is necessary to work with the family at the beginning of the problem and also to financially support biological parents instead of foster parents, which would motivate mothers to take care of their own children.
Quality of Life of Children in Children's Home
DOLEŽALOVÁ, Nina
The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of the quality of life of children in children's homes. The quality of life of children in children's homes is often overlooked, and the focus is mainly on preparing children for leaving children's homes or ensuring their material security, even though the quality of life of children can affect their entire lives. The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis captures the issue of institutional care, its history, and current state in the Czech Republic, as well as the issue of the quality of life. The aim of the practical part was to find out the quality of life of children in children's homes in selected regions. The implementation of the research took place in the Pilsen and South Bohemia regions and involved 34 respondents. To fulfill this goal, quantitative research and a query method were chosen, which was implemented using an anonymous standardized questionnaire PedsQL and a questionnaire created specifically for this purpose. The data was evaluated in MS Excel and recorded using descriptive techniques in graphs and tables. A data matrix was created in MS Excel and evaluated using IBM SPSS Statistics version 24. Pearson's correlation was used to test the hypotheses. In the bachelor thesis two hypotheses were set. Hypothesis 1 examined the influence of age on negative emotions of children in children's homes. The results showed that age does indeed influence the emotional evaluation of children, and thus the hypothesis was confirmed. Hypothesis 2 examined the influence of the length of children's stay in children's homes on the quality of life according to PedsQL. According to the results, the hypothesis was not confirmed. The bachelor's thesis can serve as a basis for further research on the quality of life of children in children's homes. Based on the data obtained, the bachelor's thesis can be used as a study material for strategic planning aimed at improving the quality of life for children.
Comparison of Access of Workers of Children´s Home, Primary School and School Canteen Radenín to Children with Disabilities and to Children without Disabilities
ZHORNÁ, Michaela
The aim of this work was to map the activities of children's home workers in the care of children with disabilities and children without disabilities. The research set consisted of six staff members from the Children's Home, Primary School, and School Canteen Radenín, one of whom was a social worker who is an essential component in childcare. The research was carried out by qualitative research. A method of questioning was used to answer the research questions and a semi-structured interview was the technique. The data obtained from the interviews was evaluated by open coding and then breaking the codes into categories. Based on the research carried out, it has emerged that the education of children in a children´s home varies greatly, due to a visit to two types of schools when children come with different difficulty of tasks. There needs to be a difference in access to education for children with disabilities and children without disabilities. This brings me to the answer to the second research question, when workers in education with children with disabilities have to use certain specific aids to make it easier for children to work. Workers with specific aids not only encounter children with disabilities in education, but also in developing motor and skills in a boy with cerebral palsy. The work brings knowledge in the field of education of children with disabilities and the use of special aids when working with these children. The aids can be educational cards, which serve as an aid to the development of communication skills, or an auxiliary table for multiplication. It is clear from the research that an assistant educator is an indispensable component in working with children with disabilities because these children need individual care.
