A very important role in the SEPA initiative has been played by the banks themselves, for they embraced a common approach towards the subject. The New legal framework should become effective by 1st November 2009 through national adoption. SEPA has so far brought a new credit transfer scheme and partial changes in the cards framework within Europe.
