The bachelor thesis entitled Coping strategies of social workers of the child protection authority seeks to analyse coping strategies that are most often used in coping with stress by social workers of the child protection authority in selected districts of South Bohemia. The bachelor's thesis used a quantitative research strategy, method of questioning and techniques of a standardized questionnaire SVF 78 focused on coping strategies for stress management.
The COVID-19 crisis from the perspective of the homeless

The bachelor thesis aims to represent experience of the homeless people with an epidemic of covid-19 infectious disease. The Theoretical part tries to explain the basic concepts related to this socio-economic phenomenon and describe especially its psychological aspects including needs, motivation and mental health. The second half of the theory focuses on the issues of difficult life situations, stress, coping and also summarizes known mental health implications related to the epidemic. The empirical part presents results of qualitative research which was realized in the preiod from September 2020 to May 2021. Data collection took place using a semi-structured interview. Research sample consists of 12 informants. The aim was to examine the impacts of the coronavirus epidemic on informants lives and inner experiences, as well as to identify ways and strategies to cope with the situation that has arised. The problem can be understood as an accumulation of 2 intertwining crises, which result in limited opportunities for dealing with homelesness.
The impact of the pandemic Covid-19 on single living seniors

The bachelor thesis deals with the description of the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on single living seniors. At the beginning of the work, the age and the associated changes and pitfalls are described. The issues of deprivation, isolation and separation are also discussed. In the last chapter of the theoretical part, the bachelor thesis focuses on epidemics and pandemics. This chapter describes their impact on the human psyche and how to manage it using coping strategies. The empirical part consists of research focused on the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on single living seniors. Within the mixed design, the principles of quantitative and qualitative methods were used. In the quantitative part, there was a comparison of single living seniors with those who live with a partner or family. The qualitative part focused on a closer study of the experiences of those who have to cope with this pandemic situation themselves. The data used for this bachelor's thesis come from the JUPSYCOR research project, which obtained information using a questionnaire survey during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in the Czech Republic.
Psychological context of the Covid-19 pandemic: the view of younger adults

The Bachelor's thesis aspires to reveal the outlook of young adults on COVID pandemic and how they deal with the unprecedented life style changes it has caused. Theoretical part will describe the characteristics of young adults and their life style. Furthermore the effect of stress and difficult situations on young adults will be revealed as well as their coping mechanisms. Empirical part will present the information gathered through qualitative research. Data collected via Jupsycor screening will expose each participant's experience with pandemic and it's toll on their life.
Poverty management strategies for women over 60 in a prosperous society

The aim of the thesis is to highlight the importance of the topic of poverty among women over 60 years of age and also to find out what ways of coping with material deprivation are chosen by women who belong to one of the most vulnerable social groups living at or below the poverty line. A sub-objective of the paper is to formulate a set of recommendations aimed at preventing and managing poverty among women over 60. The presentation of the theoretical background in the first three chapters of the thesis serves to fulfil these objectives. The issues of old age are described, and the quality of life of women over 60 in old age is approached. Concepts such as poverty, social exclusion, and a prosperous society are defined. The problem of poverty of women over 60 years of age, its causes, possibilities of prevention and solution are defined in more detail. Attention is also paid to ways of coping with poverty among women over 60. The theoretical background is followed in the fourth chapter of the thesis by a description of the research conducted to find out what coping strategies women over 60 use to cope with poverty and material deprivation. The research was designed as qualitative. The research methods were semi-structured interview, observation and document analysis. The research population consisted of seven communication partners. Grounded theory design was adopted for data analysis. The paper includes recommendations for social work practice. The outcome of the data analysis is a theory capturing the coping strategies used by women over 60 to manage poverty, identifying the factors that influence the choice and implementation of these strategies. The thesis points to the importance of educating women about early financial security for old age, the need to strengthen social work outreach to women over 60 in poverty, and to support them in dealing with their situation, including strengthening their use of social supports to cope with poverty.
Secondary stress prevention of the Pedagogical Faculty students of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of stress of university students of field of study teaching. It focuses on the mental health and mental resilience of future teachers, whose professions are among the risky in terms of stress and its health effects. As part of secondary prevention, it examines students' habits in the field of stress management, while evaluating the effectiveness of individual health-beneficial and non-beneficial anti-stress techniques. The work also maps the students development of coping with stress and focuses on stress as a factor influencing academic success.
Methods of processing and coping with stress situation of people with diseases diabetes mellitus I. type

This bachelor thesis tries to describe coping strategies in stressful situations in individuals with diabetes mellitus I. type (DM1), who became ill during adolescence. The theoretical part is focused on current knowledge about diabetes mellitus I. type, generally about coping, last but not least, the chapter seeks to describe coping strategies in individuals with DM1. Through qualitative research, the practical part tries to capture resources of stress and coping strategies in individuals with DM1 in adolescence and adulthood. The research group includes five individuals suffering from the disease DM1. Results of the research showed that these individuals perceive stress completely differently and choose different coping strategies in coping with stress. Adolescents tend to choose maladaptive coping strategies. On the other hand, adults choose more adaptive strategies. Stress in these individuals affects their course of treatment.
Attachment in the context of coping strategies in a prison sample

The objective of the thesis is to contribute to understanding of the attachment and coping strategies at a prison population. The types and used coping strategies occurring at our sample of the prison population were observed and described. Then the connections between these two variables were tested. The quantitative type of research design was chosen. Research sample was made up of 122 men serving custodial sentence in the medium security level prison. Respondents were from Remand Prison České Budějovice, Prison Rapotice, Prison Nové Sedlo and Prison Příbram. Age of the respondents ranged from 20 to 60 years. For measuring attachment ECR survey was chosen and for coping strategies SVF 78. The results shown that most prisoners show incesure type of attachment (mostly fearful avoidant). Secure type of attachment occurred only at 3 individuals. Significantly important differences between relational anxiety and avoidance with compared methodological study were proven. These differences were found even in using of the coping strategies in comparison with the norms. Our respondents shown higher values of both positive and negative coping strategies (especially the avoidant ones). The research proved a connection between attachment and preferred coping strategies (incesure types of attachment positively correlated with negative coping strategies).
The coping strategies at social trauma.

In this work was composed the topic coping strategies for social trauma. The aim of the theoretical part was to define the concept of stress, the emergence of stress and coping strategies. The next aim was to outline what may be the cause of stress and what social traumas exist. The method used for processing the theoretical part is the study of professional literary sources. The aim of the practical part was to find out which kind of strategy will prevail and assess coping strategies used by adults with social trauma to cope with stressful situations. The next aim was to find out whether selected variables (character of social trauma, characteristics of individuals) influence coping and social trauma. The last goal was to find out how people are satisfied with selected strategies. The questionnaire method was used. The data collection tool was a questionnaire adapted for survey purposes. The research sample consisted of 88 adults with social trauma who use social services in the South Bohemian Region. Data from the questionnaire were processed by using descriptive statistics. The survey showed that the most difficult situation for respondents was the child's disability. If people get into stressful situations, they are able to choose appropriate coping strategies to help them cope with stress.
Student with depression: the perspective of a close person

This thesis focuses on students with depression and their close persons. The aim of this thesis is to map various aspects of coexistence with a student suffering from depression. It uses the perspective of these close persons, whose support of students with depression is essential. The teoretical part deals with defining the concept of depression using a historical perspective and the perspective of diagnostic manuals. It also focuses on various aspects of depressive illnesses, including their impact on life of the individual. The last chapter of the theoretical part then deals with coping and coping strategies. The empirical part of this paper tries to map different strategies of support for a student with depression, which close people tend to choose. In the case of depression, as a very serious illness, it can also be assumed that the psychological state of these close ones will be affected. Following this assumption, this work also tries to map the coping strategies that close persons use to support their own mental health. A qualitative methodology was chosen to attain the research objectives.
