The use of phraseology in common communication
KAASOVÁ, Martina
In my bachelor thesis I focus on the use of phraseology in everyday communication. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is theoretical and the second part is practical. The main task of the theoretical part is the explanation of basic terms, such as the phraseology and idiom. For better illustration, the theoretical part is supplemented by several examples. This part is also devoted to the characteristics of the communication of simply style and frequency of use of idioms in it. The second part is practically oriented and examines the use and knowledge of phraseological terms among people. The basis of this part is the questionnaire, which was submitted to the fifty respondents, twenty-five women and twenty-five men. People who were asked, were of various ages and achieved various levels of education. The questionnaires are designed to gauge how often people use idioms in everyday communication and if they understand their mening. In conclusion, I summarize the results of the survey and evaluate the data.
Communication Barriers of Managers and their Subordinates
Doležel, Jan ; Hiršová, Miloslava (advisor) ; Míková, Irena (referee)
The aim of this work is to identify the most common communication errors taken from a selected sample of managers, which undermine the social interaction at work, and determine their impact on the results of work and group climate. Part of the work is a set of recommendations for the prevention and elimination of these barriers. For these goals to be met, I have developed questionnaires, particularly for managers, and especially for their subordinates, where the respondents assess themselves how often they face barriers in the workplace and impact of these barriers on the results of their work and group climate. Their responses are processed in charts by allocation criteria. Communication theories and the barriers related to the identified data give an idea of how the managers of this site (and possibly at other sites of similar size and structure) should communicate with their subordinates with care. The contribution of this work should be to improve communication and achieve not only greater satisfaction for all employees, but also increase productivity during business hours. For this to transpire, it is first necessary to increase communication, especially the knowledge of effective communication, then accept their mistakes and make a constant effort to eliminate them. Some important basic concepts in communication, a description of the principles and prerequisites of effective communication and barriers of communication and communication within the organization are clarified in the theoretical part. The practical part is focused on the environment of three working groups of international organization. The most common barriers on the workplace and their impact on work efficiency and group climate are shown and described there.
